Mystery BABYLON and the Scarlet WHORE

hanginggardensWhat is inescapable today is the rising influence of Saudi Arabia to the world fuelled by oil revenue. We witnessed last year the ultimate act of submission when the leader of the free world, President Obama, bowed down in humility to the king of Saudi Arabia, King Abdullah. Of course it all started in the seventh century with Mohammed and the rise of Islam centred around Mecca which is now in the country called Saudi Arabia.

Mecca which is controlled by the Saudi Royal family is the spiritual home of the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims whose duty it is to visit Mecca and walk 7 times around the Kaaba and rub and kiss the black stone. Mohammed with his revelations contained in the Quran started a Holy War against the Jews and Christians and so began a ruthless campaign to rid the world of “the People of the Book”.

The conquest of the Middle East and Europe following Mohammed is one of the bloodiest in all History. With the world’s largest oil reserves, Saudi Arabia is literally holding the West to ransom. They are spreading their Wahhabi form of Islam and funding education facilities throughout the Western world.

All the major universities now rely on oil money to prosper. From Arabia too we have UAE and Dubai ports which now control the gateway to many Western nations with the obvious ability to corrupt. Many would like to see the demise of Saudi Arabia and its corrupting influence, and maybe they will if prophecy comes true.

In this article we will explore what prophecy says about Saudi Arabia, both Biblical and Islamic, and we will show how both destine Saudi Arabia for destruction.

Walid Shoebat

Many readers on this site will be familiar with Walid Shoebat, the Arab Muslim turned Christian who was born in Bethlehem but now resides in the USA and can never return because his family have threatened to kill him.wshoebat

Walid Shoebat was born in Bethlehem to an Arab father and a Christian mother, but was raised as a strict Muslim. His paternal grandfather was an associate of Haj Ameen Al-Husseni, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem who colluded with Hitler in World War II. Walid was involved in terrorist activities in Israel before moving to the USA where he married a Christian woman.

He attempted to convert his wife to Islam and in 1993 began studying the Bible to compare it to the Quran. As a result, Walid converted to Christianity after seeing the deception in the Quran. He now lectures extensively in the USA and is the author of many books, including one called “God’s War on Terror: Islam, Prophecy and the Bible”.

The inspiration for this article comes from this book and one of Walid’s sayings The Bible is an eastern book and can only properly be understood by looking at the Bible through eastern eyes. This resonated with me because conventional Biblical scholars look at Biblical prophecy through a western lens.

Some History of Babylon

babyloniaBabylonia was a civilization in Lower Mesopotamia (central and southern Iraq), with Babylon as its capital. Babylonia emerged when Hammurabi (1696 – 1654 BC) created an empire out of the territories of the former kingdoms of Sumer and Akkad.

The Amorites being a Semitic people, Babylonia adopted the written Semitic Akkadian language for official use, and retained the Sumerian language for religious use, which by that time was no longer a spoken language. The Akkadian and Sumerian cultures played a major role in later Babylonian culture, and the region would remain an important cultural center, even under outside rule.

The earliest mention of the city of Babylon can be found in a tablet from the reign of Sargon of Akkad, dating back to the 20th century BC. Following the collapse of the last Sumerian “Ur-III” dynasty, the Amorites gained control over most of Mesopotamia, where they formed a series of small kingdoms.

One of these Amorite dynasties was established in the city-state of Babylon, which would ultimately take over the others and form the first Babylonian empire, during what is also called the Old Babylonian Period.

Neo Babylonia

The term Neo-Babylonian or Chaldean refers to Babylonia under the rule of the 11th (“Chaldean”) dynasty, from the revolt of  Nabopolassar in 626 BC until the invasion of Cyrus the Great in 539 neobabyloniaBC, notably including the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II.

It was in the sixth year of the last king Nabonidus (549 BC) that Cyrus, the Achaemenid Persian “king of Anshan” in Elam, revolted against his suzerain Astyages, “king of the Manda” or Medes, at Ecbatana. Astyages’ army betrayed him to his enemy, and Cyrus established himself at Ecbatana, thus putting an end to the empire of the Medes.

Three years later Cyrus had become king of all Persia, and was engaged in a campaign in the north of Mesopotamia. Meanwhile, Nabonidus had established a camp in the desert, near the southern frontier of his kingdom, leaving his son Belshazzar in command of the army. In 539 BC Cyrus invaded Babylonia and on the 12th of October, after Cyrus’ engineers had diverted the waters of the Euphrates, “the soldiers of Cyrus entered Babylon without fighting.”

Belshazzar was executed shortly thereafter. Nabonidus surrendered. Cyrus did not arrive until the 3rd of October, Gobryas having acted for him in his absence. Gobryas was now made governor of the province of Babylon.

The Bible actually predicted the destruction of Babylon by Cyrus in Isaiah Chapter 45.

The Biblical Babylon

In 724BC the northern state of Israel with its capital Damascus was invaded by the Assyrians and the ten northern tribes were scattered around the globe. Just over 100 years later the southern state based on Jerusalem was put into servitude in 605BC by Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon who later in 586BC sacked Jerusalem and took most of the population into captivity back to Babylon.

This features prominently both in Jewish prophecy but also in traditions and folklore. The famous lament in Psalm 137 said it all.

By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down and there we wept when we remembered Zion. Psalm 137:1

However in the first century AD, it was the turn of the Roman army to destroy Jerusalem and the temple. In the New Testament writings, Rome is referred to as “Babylon”. [1 Peter 5:13]

But is the Babylon of the book of Revelation Rome or something else?

This question has vexed Biblical scholars for centuries.

Islamic prophecy on Mecca and Medina

kabaaMecca and Medina (Yathrib) are the two most Holy sites in Islam, yet strangely in Islamic eschatology, both are destroyed. Consider now the two relevant prophecies.

The final battle will be waged by faithful Muslims coming on the backs of horses…carrying black banners. They will stand on the east side of the Jordan river and will wage war that the Earth has never seen before. The true Messiah who is the Islamic Mahdi…will defeat Europe…will lead this army of Seljuks. He will preside over the world from Jerusalem because Mecca would have been destroyed. [Yawm Al-Ghadab, Safar Alhwaly]

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The flourishing state of Jerusalem will be when Yathrib is in ruins, the ruined state of Yathrib will be when the great war comes, the outbreak of the great war will be at the conquest of Constantinople and the conquest of Constantinople when the Dajjal (Antichrist) comes forth. He (the Prophet) struck his thigh or his shoulder with his hand and said: This is as true as you are here or as you are sitting (meaning Mu’adh ibn Jabal)”. [Sunan of Abu Dawud Book 37, Number 4281:  Narrated Mu’adh ibn Jabal]

So in the End-Times, both Mecca and Medina will be destroyed and the Mahdi will rule his Islamic Empire from Jerusalem. If Allah is so powerful, why can’t he stop his two most Holy places from destruction?

Babylon in the Bible

Now we turn to the Bible and examine some End-Times prophecy in relation to Babylon.

Both Revelation chapters 17 & 18 mention Babylon and we see Fallen, fallen is BabylonRev 18:2

We know from history that Nabonidus, the last king of Babylon, extended his empire into Arabia and lived for ten years in Tema, which is now in Saudi Arabia.

The first clue comes from the Psalms.

Remember O Lord, against the Edomites the day of Jerusalem’s fall, How they said ‘tear it down! Tear it down! Down to its foundations! O daughter of Babylon, you devastator!  Psalms 137:7-8

So Edom is referred to as Babylon and Edom was the region including southern Jordan and Arabia which is dominated by Saudi Arabia.

And from another Psalm Edom (Saudi Arabia) is also mentioned for destruction.

Psalm 83 talks about the nations that have conspired to destroy Israel and that God will destroy them, and the first nation mentioned is Edom (Saudi Arabia). Psalm 83:6

I will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off from it humans and animals, and I will make it desolate; from Teman to Dedan they shall fall by the sword. Ezekiel 25:13
Thus says the Lord of Hosts, is there no longer wisdom in Teman? Flee, turn back, get down low, inhabitants of Dedan! For I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him at the time when I punish him. Jeremiah 49:8-9
Therefore hear the plan the Lord has made against Edom…and the inhabitants of Teman; at the sound of their fall, the Earth shall tremble; the sound of their cry shall be heard at the Red Sea. Jeremiah 49:20-21
The glory of Kedar will fall. Isaiah 21:16

Note that the places mentioned, Teman, Dedan and Kedar are all in what is today Saudi Arabia and these are mentioned for destruction. Jeremiah gives another clue that Babylon must be near the Red Sea.

Well, Saudi Arabia certainly is. But there is more.

And the streams of Edom shall be turned to pitch and her soil to sulphur;
Her land shall become burning pitch;
Night and day it shall not be quenched and its smoke shall go up forever;
From generation to generation it shall lie waste;
No one shall pass through it, forever and ever. Isaiah 34:9-10

Note the reference to pitch, which is a by-product of oil, and Saudi Arabia has the world’s largest reserves of oil. It will be totally destroyed.

And one final clue as to Babylon’s identity.

the day of the Lord comes, cruel with anger, to make the Earth a desolation;

And Babylon… will be like Sodom and Gomorrah;

It will never be inhabited or lived in for all generations,

Arabs will not pitch their tents there. Isaiah 13:9-20

the day of the Lord comes, cruel with anger, to make the Earth a desolation;

And Babylon… will be like Sodom and Gomorrah;

It will never be inhabited or lived in for all generations,

Arabs will not pitch their tents there. Isaiah 13:9-20

Note that Arabs will not pitch their tents there. This must refer to Arabia.

The fact that the destruction will be like Sodom and Gomorrah indicates a swift destruction, probably by a nuclear explosion.

By examining scripture we find that the mystery Babylon in the End-Times can only be Arabia.

The Failure of Biblical scholarship

As Walid Shoebat has observed, conventional Biblical scholars have looked at the Bible prophecy through “western eyes” and hence make three fundamental errors.

1.0: With Rome in their sight, they misinterpret the seven hills in Rev 17:9 as the seven hills of Rome;

2.0: Rome is considered to be mystery Babylon because of a reference in 1 Peter 5:13;

3.0: The troops of the Antichrist in Daniel 9:26 are mistaken to be Roman and NOT Muslim.

One of the most popular textbooks on the New Testament is Raymond Brown’s’; “An Introduction to the New Testament” and on pages 792-793 he exhibits all these mistakes and hence can’t identify who the scarlet Whore is. Wikipedia also makes the same mistakes.[1][4]    The Whore of Babylon

1.0    The Seven Hills

The seven mountains of Revelation are taken to be the seven hills of Rome. This is wrong on two counts. Mountains are identified with heads, so must be nations (not hills), and Rome has 8 hills if you count the Vatican! The Bible identifies Mountains as Empires or Nations by calling Babylon a mountain.

Behold, I [am] against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the LORD, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee. Jeremiah 51:25

So Mountains are nations, NOT hills!

A beast is defined as a nation or empire that is influenced by Satan and the seven heads or mountains of Revelation 17 are then Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome and Islamic (Ottoman).

2.0    Rome as mystery Babylon

In the first letter of Peter he says Your sister church in Babylon, chosen together with you, sends you greetings”. 1 Peter 5:13

In the time of the first century, Rome was indeed synonymous with the ancient Babylon, but Rome has not been responsible for 14 centuries of persecution. Islam has.

So Rome does not fit the requirement today.

3.0    The Troops of the Antichrist

The famous prophecy from the Seventy Weeks about who will be the troops of the Antichrist who is to come, is also misinterpreted by taking a western perspective.
“and the troops of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuaryDaniel 9:26]

Conventional thinking says ‘the Roman army destroyed Jerusalem and tore down the temple, so the troops of the Anti-Christ are Roman’. (It is accepted that the prince is the Antichrist here).

Who did destroy the Temple?

The Roman Legion under General Titus that destroyed the temple was X Fretensis and was a legion based in Antioch in southern Turkey.

These troops were Arabs, Syrians and Turks who are today almost 100 percent Muslim.

The cohorts that comprised Legion X Fretensis were:

a: Thracum: from Syria (Syrians)
b: IV Cohort Thracia: Bulgaria and Turkey (Turks)
c: Syria Ulpia Petraeorum: from Petra in Edom (Nabatean Arabs)
d: IV Cohort Arabia: Arabs

So the troops of the Anti-Christ are Muslim and NOT Roman.

Most scholars see Rome as the last empire in Dan 7 because they miss the references to:»»»
Mohammed Dan 7:8

Islam Dan 7:12

and they misunderstand the troops as Roman. Hence we get fallacious conclusions…

…like the Catholic church is Babylon and the next Pope will be the Antichrist!

Who is the Scarlet Whore who sits on the Beast

whorebabylonFirst we should consider what it means that the Whore sits on the beast.

Walid Shoebat reasons by interpreting mountains as nations / empires and not as hills, the seventh beast empire was Islamic ending with the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1922 AD. Revelation 13 claims that the “head” will be revived.

That is, the Islamic empire will be rejuvenated coming from the same persecuting empires that preceded it, but NOT including Rome.

This is a clear indication that the eighth beast empire will be Islamic, NOT Roman.

» We have shown that the Babylon in the End-Times is Arabia and that the last beast empire is Islamic. Also, Mecca is the spiritual home of all Muslims and that the kingdom of Saudi Arabia which controls Mecca is corrupting nations with its oil wealth.

» We should consider how Mecca / the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia fits the whore of Babylon.

» As the spiritual home of Islam, Mecca rules (influences) over 1.5 billion people on this planet, in every country.

» The colour scarlet denotes royalty and of course the Royal House of Saud controls Mecca, the spiritual home of Islam.

» Mecca causes people to fly planes into buildings, to blow up infrastructure, to strap bombs on themselves to blow up the Kuffaar, and to behead infidels shouting ‘Allahu Akbar”.

Consider attributes of the whore in Revelation 17 & 18.
  1. The great whore is seated on many waters (peoples, nations and languages)
  2. The kings of the Earth have committed fornication and are drunk with the wine (oil)
  3. John was carried away into a wilderness where he saw the woman sitting on the scarlet beast
  4. The woman was adorned with gold and jewels holding a golden cup full of abominations
  5. The woman was drunk with the blood of the saints and the blood of the witnesses to Jesus
  6. The beast shall hate the whore and will burn her up with fire
  7. Her judgement will come in one hour.
Consider how Mecca fits the criteria.
  1. Mecca influences over 1.5 billion people from all nations and countries
  2. Western nations are desperate for oil from the world’s largest supplier
  3. The Arabian peninsula is a desert wilderness, and Mecca is the spiritual home for all Muslims
  4. Saudi Arabia does a huge trade in gold and jewellery and is subverting the west with oil money and funding terror
  5. Islam has killed over 270 million people since the seventh century, and Islam demands the killing of all Jews and the destruction of Christianity
  6. Islamic nations hate Saudi Arabia because they believe it has corrupted Islam and in Islamic eschatology, both Mecca and Medina will be destroyed, probably by a Turkey, Syria, Iran axis
  7. The judgement could well be a nuclear device if it is to come in one hour.

By not taking a western perspective and properly analysing scripture, it is obvious that the mystery Babylon is Arabia and the Great Harlot who sits on the beast is none other than Mecca, the

spiritual home of Islam.

mosealBoth Islamic and Biblical eschatology then agree that Mecca and Medina will be destroyed and the Bible goes further to have the whole of Arabia destroyed. Not many people in the West will shed a tear.

Consider then, if the Church took an eastern perspective:

a)    Islam would be identified as the religion of Satan;
b)    The church would preach to over 2 billion Christians that Allah was Satan;
c)    Interfaith meetings would take on a whole new perspective, and;
d)    Church leaders would hassle Politicians about NOT allowing Islam to flourish.

We can only dream!

Considering what the sixth Imam of Shia, Imam Jafar Sadiq, said:

One who exposes something from our religion is like one who intentionally kills us.

We should turn this on our Church and Biblical scholars and say:

One who ignores that Islam IS the problem is like one who intentionally kills us.

A Challenge for Readers

A careful  analysis of the End-Times prophecies in the Psalms, the prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel and also in the book of Revelation ALL reveal the places named for judgement and destruction as Islamic places today.

The challenge for readers is to identify even ONE place mentioned for punishment that is NOT a predominately Muslim country today. Good Luck!

Stock Market Crash Signals Turmoil After Shmittah

The Internet is on fire with stories about the rocking of the world economy. With global markets in a financial meltdown, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped more than 1,000 points at the opening bell Monday.

Feeling the effects of the crisis, Israeli investors are bracing for their own losses as the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange saw its worst earnings in four years over the weekend. China’s devaluation of its currency, the yuan, has signaled to international investors that the country is no more a financial powerhouse. In a global economy, however, all these events are, of course, connected.

Taken together, four recent and upcoming events make a compelling case for imminent and dramatic messianic advancement.

The four events are the end of the Shmittah year on September 13, the shaking of the world economies last week, numerical hints that abound in Bible Codes and the final Blood Moon of the current tetrad on September 23.

In the name of Rabbi Avigdor Nebenzahl, the former Chief Rabbi of the Old City of Jerusalem, author Rabbi Shimon Apisdorf told Breaking Israel News that, since the end of Biblical prophecy, God speaks to us in headlines. Apisdorf said the same idea, that God speaks through historical events, is echoed by Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer Dessler, an important 20th century rabbi, Talmudic scholar, and Jewish philosopher.

Where do we find hints of God’s Hand in recent economic news? As previously reported by Breaking Israel News, there is a well established pattern of connection between the end of a Shmittah cycle and a downturn in the US economy. This has happened at or near the end of the last seven Shmittah cycles.

End Times author Rabbi Pinchas Winston spoke about this connection with Breaking Israel News. “Why should the end of a Shmittah cycle affect the economies of the world? Even today, when the keeping of Shmittah is rabbinical in nature, it still transmits a Torah message, and that is that God runs the world and provides everything in Creation with its livelihood,” he explained.

“The fact that billions of people do not believe this or think about it does not change the fact, and what better time to make the point than as the Shmittah year comes to an end? It has occurred over the millennia with uncanny consistency, and one need look back only a few decades to see how true this is, and to know that bracing oneself for financial upheaval this September is a word to the wise and financially prudent.”

In July 2015, Jeff Berwick, a Canadian entrepreneur and financial analyst, released a video about the connection between the Shmittah and Jubilee cycles and the global economy. On Friday, he wrote an article questioning whether the Shmittah effect began a few weeks early.

Three weeks ahead of the end of the Shmittah cycle, Wall Street just experienced a very difficult week, the worst in years. The Dow fell more than 1,000 points. Some say it’s just a normal market correction. End of Days blogger Tomer Devorah has a different way of understanding the numbers.

In the system of gematria, where every Hebrew letter has a numerical value, the numerical value of the word Mashiach (Messiah) is 358. On Thursday, August 20, the US stock market fell 358 points. The next day, Friday, August 21, the US stock market fell another 530 points. Together, 530 and 358 equals 888.

This is significant because the number 8 represents God, who is above nature. As Tomer Devorah writes “The number 8 is also connected to the revelation of Mashiach (messiah)!”  She explains that the number 7 is associated with completeness in nature – the seven days of Creation, the seven days of the week, the seven colors of the rainbow, etc. The number 8 is above nature. The Messianic era is also represented by the number 8 because, during that time, our souls will transcend nature and will experience a higher level of understanding God.

Upcoming Jewish Holidays Begins Period of Cataclysmic Events for Israel

You don’t need prophetic vision to know that the world is on the verge of a new period heralding in global changes unlike any ever seen before. The signs are obvious and the pieces are all in place. With the Jewish holiday’s fast approaching, God’s plan for change and redemption is unfolding before our very eyes with grave implications for the nation of Israel.

The Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashana, will begin on the evening of September 13 and end after sunset on September 15. According to Jewish tradition, Rosh Hashana is the day that God begins the process of judging the entire world.

This year’s Rosh Hashana is especially unique in that it will signal the end of the Shemittah year, the Sabbatical year which occurs in a seven year cycle. According to the Talmud, the written text explaining the oral Torah, the Messiah will come in the year following the Shemittah year.

As the second and final day of the holiday of Rosh Hashana ends on September 15, the 70th United Nations General Assembly will commence. The issue of the creation of a Palestinian state is expected to be decided by world representatives during the General Assembly. While not having yet happened, the upcoming session is already fraught with tension as it is unclear whether the US will continue to use its veto to prevent the Palestinians from unilaterally declaring a state.

Conflict over the Holy Land is prophesied to be part of the process of redemption. In Zechariah 12:6, the end times are described: “On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a flame that sets a woodpile ablaze or like a burning torch among sheaves of grain. They will burn up all the neighboring nations right and left, while the people living in Jerusalem remain secure.” In Amos 9:15, we are told that once the Jews are re-established in their land, “they will not again be rooted out from their land.”

After the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashana is an interim period referred to as the Ten Days of Awe. It is during this period, on September 17, that the US Congress will vote on whether to reject or accept the nuclear deal negotiated by US President Barack Obama with Iran over their nuclear program.

Religious leaders have characterized the Iran deal as a cataclysmic and fiery conflict as part of the apocalyptic war of Gog and Magog. In Ezekiel, chapters 38 and 39, this was is described as involving several nations, none of whom border Israel. However Persia (Iran) is specifically mentioned as a main actor of the war.

It should be remembered that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave his fateful address to Congress protesting the Iranian deal on March 3, the day before the Jewish holiday of Purim. Purim celebrates the Jewish victory over Haman, an officer in the Persian court, known today as Iran. Jewish holidays indeed play a significant role in the process of heavenly warning to the nations.

Concluding the Days of Awe is the holiday of Yom Kippur, known as the Day of Atonement on which God seals his judgments. Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year and falls on September 23.

Oddly enough, September 23, Yom Kippur, is the day on which Obama has chosen to host Pope Francis at the White House on his first visit to the United States.

Pope Francis, in his role as leader of the Catholic world, has chosen to involve himself in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, recently recognizing the “State of Palestine.”

The weeklong Jewish Holiday of Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, begins September 28, also the date for the last of the four blood moons in a special tetrad cycle.

Previous lunar tetrad cycles have coincided with important historical events that impacted the nation and State of Israel.

For example, four blood moons followed the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. In 1967, before the Six Day War in which a divided Jerusalem was liberated and united by Israel, there was one blood moon with three following.

The upcoming blood moon will be clearly visible from Jerusalem and a similar pattern of eclipses happened just before and just after the destruction of the Jewish Temple by the Romans in 70 AD.

The 7000 Year Plan

The 7000 Year Plan of Elohim

The prophet Moses said in Psalms 90:4 that 1000 years was as one day in the sight of Elohim. As time passed, the Spirit of Truth revealed that there was a corresponding theme between each of the seven millennial days of mankind’s history and the seven Hebrew Days in the creation sequence. On Day One of creation, on the first day of the week on Yom Ri-shon, light was separated from darkness, and in the first millennium Adam’s sin separated him from Elohim’s light. On the second day, on Yom She-ni, there was a separation of the waters above and below, and in the second millennium, the waters above and below were used in judgment. On the third day, on Yom Shli-shi, plants yielding seed were created, and in the third millennium a promise was made to Abraham, that through his seed – יהושע the Messiah – all the nations of the earth would be blessed.

On the fourth day on Yom Re-vi-i the lights in heaven were created, and in the fourth millennium kings and prophets were given as lights to Israel and יהושע the Messiah was born. On the fifth day on Yom Ham-i-shi living creatures were created, and in the fifth millennium יהושע the Messiah died that we might become new creatures inheriting eternal life. On the sixth day on Yom Shi-shi man was told to fill the earth and subdue it, and in the sixth millennium man has filled the earth and subdued it. On the seventh day on Sha-bat Elohim rested, and in the seventh millennium the earth will be restored and man will rest in the Millennial Sabbath which is the Age of Life or the Millennial Kingdom. Peter said in 2 Peter 3:8 not to be ignorant of this one thing – with יהוה one day is as 1000 years and 1000 years is as one day.

Image Above NOTE: The heavens and the earth were created to be perfect by Elohim (Genesis 1:1). The time when the universe was perfect is known as The World that Was in Hebraic thought. A spiritual rebellion led by Satan caused the earth to become desolate and ruined (Genesis 1:2). Elohim judged this rebellion by separating light / righteousness from darkness / wickedness (Genesis 1:3). This judgment initiated the creation of the physical universe and the Present Age in which mankind is striving with Elohim. The Present Age contains three smaller ages: the Age of Desolation, the Age of Instruction and the Age of the Messiah. יהוה told Noah that after 120 Jubilee Years He would not strive with man (Genesis 6:3) and therefore, redeemed mankind will be granted immortality at this time. The Millennial Kingdom begins in Civil Year 6001. The universe will be perfect again after the Age of Life when Satan and his followers will be cast into the Lake of Fire in the World to Come.

In the Creation Calendar, there are 12 Hebrew Hours of equal duration between sunset and sunrise, and 12 Hebrew Hours of equal duration between sunrise and sunset. Hebrew Days begin and end at the moment of sunset. Hebrew Months begin when the moon’s crescent first becomes potentially visible to the naked eye in Jerusalem, and are numbered from 1 to 12 in a regular year, or from 1 to 13 in a leap year. Hebrew Years are based on the seasons which are determined by the position of the earth in relation to the sun at the equinoxes and solstices. Hebrew Years are determined by the rule of the equinox which always places Day 15 of Month 1 on or after the Hebrew Day of the spring equinox.

The Scriptures teach in Exodus 12:1-2 that a Spiritual Year begins in Month 1 in late winter or early spring. The Scriptures teach in Leviticus 25:8-10 that a Civil Year begins in Month 7 in late summer or early fall. There are three types of Civil Years color coded in the Creation Calendar. In the 50 Year Jubilee Cycle, a Sabbatical Year occurs every seventh year and is colored blue, and the fiftieth Jubilee Year in the Jubilee Cycle is colored purple. A regular Civil Year is neither a Sabbatical nor a Jubilee Year and is tan colored. The special Jubilee Year begins on Day 10 of Month 7 on Yom Kippur according to Leviticus 25:9 and Ezekiel 40:1. All other Civil Years begin on Day 1 of Month 7 on Yom Teruah. As the Jubilee Year governs all Civil Years in the Jubilee Cycle, all Civil Years must begin in Month 7 in late summer or early fall.

Image Above NOTE: Time advances from left to right in the diagram. The horizontal bars on the first row show Gregorian years labelled with the 12 Gregorian months. The horizontal bars on the second and third rows show Hebrew Years with their corresponding numbered Hebrew Months. The second row shows Spiritual Years which begin around the time of the spring equinox. The third row shows Civil Years which begin around the time of the fall equinox. This diagram depicts a regular Hebrew Year with 12 Hebrew Months followed by a leap year with 13 Hebrew Months. The proleptic Julian Calendar is displayed for dates before October 15, 1582 C.E. and the Gregorian Calendar for dates after this time.

In the Beginning

The spiritual universe was created and existed before the physical universe was created. According toGenesis 1:2, the earth became desolate and ruined. The order in the spiritual universe was threatened when Satan rebelled causing a disruption of the world, and this disruption initiated the creation of the physical universe. Elohim created the dimension of time in the physical universe to indicate when the order in His universe would be restored, and when the universe would be perfected.

The universe was perfect before the disruption of the world in the Prototypical Jubilee Year 0. This time is known as Olam She’avar or The World that Was. It is for this reason that the Jubilee Year is a concept connected with the original, perfected state in which Elohim created the world and intended it to exist. AsLeviticus 25:8-11 indicates the Jubilee Year is on a 50 year cycle, it follows logically that the restoration of the universe will occur after 6000 Civil Years in the Age of Life at the end of Jubilee Year 120. For יהוה truly said in Genesis 6:3 that He would not strive with man after 120 Jubilee Years. Consequently, the perfection of the universe that occurs after 7000 Civil Years in Olam Haba or The World to Come is linked with the end of Jubilee Year 140 in Hebraic thought.

The Year of Jubilee – The Restoration of All Things

The Jubilee Year became important to the children of Israel during the Age of Instruction. The first time Moses descended with the 10 Commandments, the children of Israel were found worshipping a golden calf. Israel was given a second chance with Elohim when Moses descended with the 10 Commandments a second time on Yom Kippur beginning Jubilee Year 51. The instruction to count the Jubilee Year was ultimately given for the purpose of instructing mankind on when the restoration of the universe at the end of Jubilee Year 120 would occur and subsequently the perfection of the universe at the end of Jubilee Year 140.

The Jubilee Year represents the restoration of law, order, justice, peace, freedom, prosperity and harmony in the universe – or the restoration of all things in Hebraic thought. The Messiah said in Matthew 17:10-13 that the restoration of all things was linked with the coming of Elijah. Peter prophesied in Acts 3:19-23 that the heavens would receive the Messiah of Israel until the time of the restoration of all things or Jubilee Year 120. At this time יהושע the Messiah of Israel will return and save all of those who hear Him. Those who do not hear Him will be destroyed. This will occur during the Day of יהוה at the end of the Age of the Messiah to fulfill the word of יהוה in Deuteronomy 18:15-19. The perfection of the universe occurs when Satan and his followers are cast into the Lake of Fire at the end of Jubilee Year 140 according to Revelation 20:7-9.

The World that Was – The Time Before Time

The time before Day One of the physical universe is referred to as Olam She’avar or The World that Was in Hebraic thought. In terms of the 7000 Year Plan of Elohim, the spiritual universe existed in Prototypical Jubilee Year 0 which is when the heavens and the earth were created according to Genesis 1:1.

The angels and the spirits of men were created in The World That Was before the time of the ages according to 2 Timothy 1:8-11, Titus 1:1-3 and Jude 1:6. That was when the foundation of the earth was laid according to Job 38:4, Psalms 102:25, Isaiah 48:13, Zechariah 12:1 and Hebrews 1:10. Olam She’avar is referred to as the time before the disruption of the world in John 17:24 and 1 Peter 1:17-21.

The children of Elohim were chosen during Olam She’avar before the disruption of the world according to Ephesians 1:3-6. יהושע the Messiah said in John 15:26-27 that the Spirit of Truth would testify of Him, and that His disciples would bear witness of this because they have been with Him  from the beginning of creation. This contrasts greatly with those whose father is the devil who are against יהושע the Messiah. The devil was a murderer from the beginning of creation as יהושע said in John 8:42-44.

In Genesis 6:3 Elohim told Noah He would not strive with man throughout all the ages, and in Isaiah 57:15-16 He gives the reason why. יהוה said that He will not strive through all the ages but will revive the spirits of the humble and the contrite (a reference to the resurrection of the righteous at the end of the Age of the Messiah) because the spirit would fail before Me, and the breath of those whom I have made.” From these words it is understood that the spirits of all people existed before the physical universe was created.

In Paul’s mind, Elohim created the spirits of all mankind in Olam She’avar before the disruption of the worldand the creation of the physical universe. This is how Paul in Ephesians 1:3-6 understood that the children of Elohim could be chosen before the disruption of the world. Paul understood that there is a place in heaven where the spirits of the unborn are kept until it is time for them to be conceived. For this reason it has been taught that the Son of David will not come, and the Age of Life will not begin, until every spirit that Elohim has created has been implanted in an embryo.

One of the reasons procreation is so important in Hebraic thought is because of the belief that procreation will result in the ultimate deliverance of mankind. The first commandment of the Scriptures is to be fruitful and multiply according to Genesis 1:28. All of the spirits which Elohim has created must be joined to a physical body (an embryo) before the Messiah returns and the Age of Life begins. The Messiah said in Luke 20:34-38 that the redeemed will be given immortal bodies in the Age of Life. Paul also said in 1 Corinthians 15:54. that every redeemed soul which Elohim has made will be granted an immortal body in the Age of Life. Those who are resurrected who are considered worthy to attain the Age of Life will not marry or be given in marriage for they will be equal to the angels.”

During Olam She’avar or The World that Was everything in the universe was perfect as every spiritual being lovingly served Elohim. At the end of Olam She’avar the earth became desolate and ruined and darkness was on the face of the deep according to Genesis 1:2. This chaotic darkness refers to the rebellion of Satan. The Hebrew word used for desolate in Genesis 1:2 is tohū תהו which is the name given to the age that is defined by its epoch – the Age of Tohu or the Age of Desolation.

The Disruption of the World – The Satanic Rebellion

At the moment Satan rebelled he was cast out of the third heaven and there was a separation between light and darkness in the spiritual universe. This rebellion caused a disruption of the world. The separation of light from darkness was a separation between righteousness and wickedness in the spiritual universe, as the lights in the physical universe had not yet been created. The apostle Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 5:1-5 there were children of light and children of darkness. In John 12:36, יהושע the Messiah advised everyone to believe in Him and to become children of light.

The separation of light from darkness, or the fall of Satan, is described by Elohim in Genesis 1:3-5. Isaiah compared the fall of Satan with the fall of the king of Babylon in Isaiah 14:12-15. Ezekiel used the king of Tyre as a metaphor for Satan in Ezekiel 28:11-19. The expulsion of Satan from heaven is told again from the perspective of יהושע the Messiah in Luke 10:18. יהושע said in John 8:44 that the devil was a murderer from the beginning and this is when he was expelled from the third heaven. The separation of light from darkness, or the fall of Satan, initiated the creation of the physical universe at sunset beginning Day 1 / Month 7 / Year 1.

Image Above NOTE: Before the physical universe was created there was Elohim (John 17:5). In the beginning Elohim created the spiritual universe which was perfect (Genesis 1:1). The World that Was remained perfect until a satanic rebellion caused the world to become desolate and ruined (Genesis 1:2). At that moment, light was separated from darkness on Day 1 / Month 7 / Year 1 (Genesis 1:3).Elohim created the physical universe during the seven day creation sequence initiating the first Jubilee Cycle, the Present Ageand the Age of Desolation. The countdown to the end of the ages commenced at Day 1 of the creation of the physical universe.

The Creation Calendar’s epoch (reference date) for the creation of the physical universe is sunset in Jerusalem beginning Yom Ri-shon (the first day of the week) on Day 1 / Month 7 / Year 1.

This moment is equivalent to 16:05 [± 30 minutes] Universal Time on Saturday, October 7, 3986 B.C.E. on the proleptic (retro-calculated) Julian Calendar. The first Jubilee Cycle commenced at this moment when Elohim separated light from darkness according to Genesis 1:3-5.

This moment represents the birth of the world. One of the many names given to Day 1 of Month 7 in Hebraic thought is Hayom Harat Olam היום הרת עולם or The Birthday of the World. The physical universe began when Elohim judged a rebellion of Satan, the prince of this world, who was a murderer from the beginning according to John 8:44, John 12:31, 14:30, 16:7-11 and 1 John 3:8.

Satan’s rebellion resulted in a disruption of the world that is mentioned in Matthew 13:33-35, 25:34, Luke 11:49-51, Hebrews 4:3, 9:26, Revelation 13:8 and Revelation 17:8. The word for disruption (katabolē καταβολη) is often mistranslated as  foundation. The verb kataballō καταβαλλω means casting down or overthrow as can be seen in 2 Corinthians 4:8-10. Accordingly, the noun katabolē καταβολη, derived from and cognate with the verb kataballō καταβαλλω, ought to be translated disruption or ruin.

The disruption or ruin of the world occurred at the time it was tohū va-bohū תהו ובהו which has been translated in Genesis 1:2 as formless and void. These words tohū va-bohū תהו ובהו are more accurately translated as desolate and ruined. The disruption of the world occurred when the earth became desolate and ruined from Satan’s rebellion. The Midrash Rabbah 2.4 interprets the Spirit of Elohim hovering over the face of the waters as being the Spirit of Messiah, and further links the Spirit of יהוה in Isaiah 11:1-2 as resting on the Messiah. At the moment of the disruption, Elohim initiated the seven day creation sequence and the Present Age and the Age of Desolation.

Image Above NOTE: The account of the creation of the world is told in Genesis 1:1. The account of the disruption of the world is told in Genesis 1:2.At the moment the disruption occurred, Elohim judged this satanic rebellion when He initiated the seven day creation sequence. The story of the creation sequence is told in the order it happened in Genesis 1:3-2:3. Certain details from the first five days are told in Genesis 2:4-6. Certain details of the sixth day in the Garden of Eden are told in Genesis 2:7-25. The bodies of Adam and Hawah were created on Day 6 of Month 7.

There are several accounts of the seven day creation sequence of the physical universe. Genesis 1:3-2:3tells the entire story in the order it happened. Genesis 2:4-6 recounts events from the first five days of creation and gives details of the mist that arose from the ground to water the earth before Elohim caused it to rain. Genesis 2:7-25 gives details of events that happened in the Garden of Eden on the sixth day of creation.

The tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and other trees that were pleasant to the eye and good for food were created in the Garden of Eden on the sixth day (Genesis 2:9). The rest of the world was full of trees before this on the third day (Genesis 1:11-13). Birds were created from the ground in the Garden of Eden on the sixth day for man to name (Genesis 2:19). Birds were created from water before this on the fifth day (Genesis 1:20-23) Some animals were created in the Garden of Eden on the sixth day to be named by man after man was created (Genesis 2:19-20). Some animals were created on the sixth day before man was created (Genesis 1:24-25). As some animals, birds and trees were created in the Garden of Eden after man was created, man became a witness to Elohim’s creative acts.

Six days after the disruption of the world on Day 1 / Month 7 / Year 1, the physical body of Adam was formed from the earth on Day 6 / Month 7 / Year 1. The physical body of Hawah was formed from Adam’s rib on this day. When Elohim breathed into Adam’s nostrils, Adam’s sprit was joined to his body and he became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). Adam and Hawah are the father and mother of mankind, and all people living on earth today can trace their genetic heritage back to them. Every person’s physical body descends from Adam and Hawah’s physical bodies.

Image Above NOTE: The end of the Age of Desolation initiated the Age of Instruction on Day 1 / Month 7 / Year 2001. The Age of Desolation began when the earth became desolate and ruined (Genesis 1:2). During this age Adam and Hawah were driven out of the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:1-24), a global flood further destroyed the earth during Noah’s time (Genesis 7:1-8:22), and a global dispersion of people occurred after the languages of mankind were confused at the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9). However, there was hope for mankind when Elohim made a covenant with Noah (Genesis 9:8-17), and when Abram was born at the end of the Age of Desolation (Genesis 11:26). The transition between the Age of Desolation and the Age of Instruction occurred at the end of of Jubilee Year 40.

The Creation Calendar’s epoch (reference date) for the transition from the Age of Desolation to the Age of Instruction is sunset beginning Sha-bat (the seventh day of the week) on Day 1 / Month 7 / Year 2001. This moment is equivalent to 15:45 [± 20 minutes] Universal Time on Friday, October 5, 1986 B.C.E. on the proleptic (retro-calculated) Julian Calendar. As Moses received the tôrâh תורה or instructions from Mount Sinai during this age it is named the Age of  Torah or the Age of Instruction. All the prophets from Elijah to Malachi lived in this age and יהושע the Messiah was born at the end of this age (Hebrews 9:26).

David knew during the Age of Instruction that his soul would not be abandoned in Sheol at the first death(Psalms 16:10). Sheol, which is often translated as the grave, is a place where thinking and awareness ceases (Psalms 6:5, Ecclesiastes 9:5), where there is no working, or planning, or knowledge, or wisdom(Ecclesiastes 9:10) or hope (Isaiah 38:18). In almost all cases, the future outcome of an individual soul has been decided at the first death. In some special cases, people such as Lazarus have been raised to life after the first death (John 11:43-44), thereby having their mortal lives temporarily extended in the Present Age.

Image Above NOTE: The end of the Age of Instruction initiated the Age of the Messiah on Day 1 / Month 7 / Year 4001. It was during the Age of Instruction that the Creator established His covenant with mankind through Abraham (Genesis 12:1-9, 13:14-17, 15:1-21, 17:1-27,22:1-18), Isaac (Genesis 26:1-5, 26:23-25), Jacob (Genesis 28:10-22, 35:9-15), Moses (Exodus 19:16-24:3), and David (Psalms 89:3-4, 89:19-37). Many prophets were sent to Israel during this age, and the Messiah was ultimately born at the end of the Age of Instruction (Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 2:6-7, Hebrews 9:26). Isaiah prophesied that the children of Israel would be taught by יהוה(Isaiah 54:13), and that is exactly what happened during the Age of the Messiah. The Messiah taught in parables, and then renewed the covenant with mankind by giving His life for all who will believe and obey Him (Jeremiah 31:31-34, Hebrews 8:8-12).The transition between the Age of Instruction and the Age of the Messiah occurred at the end of Jubilee Year 80.

The Creation Calendar’s epoch (reference date) for the transition from the Age of Instruction to the Age of the Messiah is sunset beginning Yom Re-vi-i (the fourth day of the week) on Day 1 / Month 7 / Year 4001. This moment is equivalent to 16:04 [± 10 minutes] Universal Time on Tuesday, September 3, 15 C.E. on the proleptic (retro-calculated) Julian Calendar. יהושע the Messiah came as the Redeemer at the beginning of the Age of the Messiah (Luke 24:21, Galatians 4:4-5, Titus 2:11-14). He returns as Saviour of the world at the end of this age (John 4:42, 1 John 4:14). His work at both the beginning and end of this age gives this age its name.

The Age of the Messiah began on Yom Re-vi-i (the fourth day of the week) on the Messiah’s 17th birthday on New Moon 7 in 15 C.E. The Messiah read from Isaiah 61:1-2 in the synagogue in Nazareth on Yom Re-vi-i (the fourth day of the week) on His 31st birthday on New Moon 7 in 29 C.E. The Age of Life is destined to begin on Yom Re-vi-i (the fourth day of the week) on New Moon 7 in 2015 C.E.

The Last Days and the Age of the Messiah

The last four millennial days in the 7000 Year Plan of Elohim are called the last days. This critical point has gone unrecognized by many who have not understood the span of history covered by this phrase. There are many fascinating prophecies about the last days.

Jacob prophesied about the last days in Genesis 49:1. Balaam prophesied about them in Numbers 24:14.Moses prophesied about them in Deuteronomy 4:30-31 and 31:29. Ezekiel used this phrase in Ezekiel 38:16 to refer to the time when Gog, who was Prince Nebuzaradan, and the Babylonian army were destroyed by fire on Yom Teruah in 594 B.C.E. in the fourth millennial day. Isaiah spoke of the last days in Isaiah 2:2.Jeremiah spoke of them in Jeremiah 23:20, 30:24, 48:47 and 49:39. Daniel spoke of them in Daniel 2:28 and 10:14. Hosea spoke of them in Hosea 3:5. Joel spoke of them in Joel 2:28-32. Micah spoke of them in Micah 4:1. Paul spoke of them in 2 Timothy 3:1. The writer of Hebrews spoke of them in Hebrews 1:1-2. James spoke of them in James 5:3. Peter quoted the prophet Joel about the last days in Acts 2:17-21, and he also referred to them in 2 Peter 3:1-4.

The Age of the Messiah takes place in midst of the last days in the fifth and sixth millennial days. The Age of Life is also in the last days as it is the seventh millennial day. The Messiah raised Lazarus from the dead in the Age of the Messiah and the disciples were confused when the Messiah told them Lazarus was sleeping until He explained to them that Lazarus was dead (John 11:11-15). יהושע the Messiah taught a parable in which a beggar went to Abraham’s bosom while a rich man went to a place of torment (Luke 16:19-31). יהושע the Messiah taught in parables in order to reveal truth to the spiritually enlightened while concealing truth from the spiritually blind (Mark 4:11-12, Luke 8:10) thereby fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah 6:9-10.

The parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus is an allegory in which the Messiah used symbolic language to condemn false teachers, false shepherds and the merciless rich – represented in the parable by the Pharisees (Luke 16:14). The parable teaches that the decisions a person makes in the Present Age have lasting implications for one’s future. After death there is no opportunity for a person to change the outcome.

The Resurrection of the Righteous and the Damned

The parable teaches that after death there are only two possibilities: the resurrection of the righteous or the resurrection of the damned.

In Pharisaical thought, it was possible for two people who knew each other in life, to hold conversations after death (even though in reality this is impossible). The rich man was an upper class Pharisee, and Lazarus was (from a Pharisaical perspective) in a class with the dogs or the Gentiles.

In Pharisaical thought, Abraham’s bosom was a place where those of the faith of Abraham are gathered after death. The name Lazarus (Eleazar) was used for the beggar because it means El has helped. In the end, Lazarus attains to the resurrection of the righteous and Abraham’s bosom – the Age of Life, while the rich Pharisee attains to the resurrection of the damned and a place of torment – the Lake of Fire. This parable is a stiff indictment against all false teachers, false shepherds and the merciless rich.

Paul said during the Age of the Messiah that a person has a spirit, soul and body (1 Thessalonians 5:23). Ever since Elohim created Adam and Hawah, a living soul comes into existance when a physical body is formed in the womb and joined to its spirit which existed from the beginning (Jeremiah 1:5). At the first death, the body returns to dust (Genesis 3:19), the spirit returns to Elohim (Luke 23:46, Acts 7:59), and the soul falls asleep (Deuteronomy 31:16, 2 Samuel 7:12, 1 Kings 1:21, 2:10, 11:21, 11:43, 14:20, 14:31, 15:8,15:24, 16:6, 16:28, 22:40, 22:50, 2 Kings 8:24, 10:35, 13:9, 13:13, 14:16, 14:22, 14:29, 15:7, 15:22, 15:38,16:20, 20:21, 21:18, 24:6, 2 Chronicles 9:31, 12:16, 14:1, 16:13, 21:1, 26:2, 26:23, 27:9, 28:27, 32:33,33:20, Job 7:21, Matthew 27:51-53, 1 Corinthians 11:30, 15:6, 15:16-20, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-15 and 2 Peter 3:1-4).

The Scriptures teach that while the body turns to dust at the first death, the spirit returns to Elohim and the soul rests. A person’s soul does not go to heaven or hell at death, but rests, waiting to be re-united with a new body that will either inherit immortality in the Age of Life, or the Second Death in the Lake of Fire in The World to Come. Just before he died, Daniel was told that he would rest, and then arise to receive his inheritance at the end of days (Daniel 12:13) which is a reference to Jubilee Year 120. The Age of Life will begin at the end of Jubilee Year 120 (Daniel 12:2). The souls of all the people who have died in the Present Age will awaken at either the first resurrection of the righteous, or the second resurrection of the damned. These are the only two possibilities according to the Scriptures (Daniel 12:2, John 5:28-29, Acts 24:15).soul sleep?[1]4cminew Note: Soul Sleep? see What is soul sleep? see What does the Bible say about soul sleep?  see What Is the Doctrine of Soul Sleep? – Christianity – About.com see Is soul … Continue reading

When יהושע the Messiah was being crucified beside a criminal, He truly said that day, that the criminal would be with Him in Paradise or the Age of Life (Luke 23:43). The Messiah did not tell the man that he would be with Him in Paradise that day, although the man’s spirit would have been with Elohim that day. For the Messiah said that no one other than Himself has ever gone to heaven (John 3:13). When Paul said that to be absent from the body was to be present with יהוה – he was speaking of the spirit (2 Corinthians 5:8). Paul believed that the spirit could be in or out of the body (2 Corinthians 12:1-4). He told the Colossians that while he was absent from them in the body, he was with them in spirit (Colossians 2:5).

Throughout the Age of Desolation and the Age of Instruction, a mystery was hidden that was revealed during the Age of the Messiah. More than 4000 years after the disruption of the world and the seven day creation sequence, Paul understood a mystery hidden since the time of the ages began (Romans 16:25-27). The revealed mystery was that Gentiles, who turned away from their idolatry, could be joined to the commonwealth of Israel through יהושע the Messiah (Ephesians 3:1-7). They would no longer be regarded as strangers and foreigners, but as fellow citizens of the household of Elohim (Ephesians 2:19). The restoration of the commonwealth of Israel will be complete before the Age of Life or the Millennial Kingdom begins.

At the resurrection of the righteous, a justified person’s soul will be permanently joined to a new spiritual body (1 Corinthians 15:42-54). The Messiah Himself taught that those who believe in Him and who are living in their mortal physical bodies at the time when He returns will never die (John 11:23-26). Paul longed to be clothed with his spiritual body and to be absent from his physical body (2 Corinthians 5:1-8).יהושע the Messiah, who is the firstfruits of all who believe and obey Elohim (1 Corinthians 15:20-23), was in His spiritual body after His resurrection (Luke 24:36-43).

Civil Year 6000 is the last year in the Age of the Messiah and this year is also known as the Day of יהוה (Isaiah 34:8, 61:2, 63:4). It is the year of Elohim’s vengeance that will burn as an oven when the wicked will be judged by fire and will be ashes under the feet of the righteous (Malachi 4:1-3). The elements will melt with fervent heat (2 Peter 3:10-13). Paul prophesied that יהושע the Messiah will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of Elohim, and that the righteous dead in Messiah will rise first (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18) as they shall awake at the last trump (1 Corinthians 15:50-55). The Age of the Messiah will end when the Age of Life begins.

Image Above NOTE: The end of the Present Age and the Age of the Messiah initiates the Age of Life or the Millennial Kingdom on Day 1 / Month 7 / Year 6001. The righteous dead are to be awakened by the sound of the last trump (1 Corinthians 15:52). The mistakes made by the Israelites in the Exodus from Egypt were written to instruct the faithful who are alive and remaining at the end of the age – the Present Age and the Age of the Messiah (1 Corinthians 10:1-12). When יהושע the Messiah was last on earth at the beginning of the Age of the Messiah, He said that He would always be with those who believe and obey Him – even to the end of the age(Matthew 28:19-20). The Marriage of the Lamb will take place at the beginning of the Age of Life (Matthew 22:1-14, Matthew 25:1-13, Luke 12:35-40, Luke 14:1-24, Revelation 3:20-21, Revelation 20:6). The transition from the Age of the Messiah to the Age of Life occurs at the end of Jubilee Year 120.

The Creation Calendar’s epoch (reference date) for the beginning of the Age of Life or the Future Age or the Millennial Kingdom is sunset in Jerusalem beginning Yom Re-vi-i (the fourth day of the week) on Day 1 /Month 7 / Year 6001. This moment is equivalent to 15:46 Universal Time on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 C.E. on the Gregorian Calendar. At this time the Marriage of the Lamb begins according to Revelation 19:6-9.

In John 2:1-11, יהושע the Messiah alluded to the idea that the Marriage of the Lamb will occur after sixmillennial days are filled to the brim. It was at Cana that the Messiah turned water into wine at a marriage after six waterpots were filled to the brim. This first public miracle of יהושע the Messiah is deeply prophetic, as it convinced the disciples that יהושע was the Messiah who would rule in the Millennial Kingdom at the end of 6000 Civil Years of mankind’s history. The first six millennial days of mankind’s history are further grouped into three ages: the Age of Desolation, the Age of Instruction and the Age of the Messiah.

The End of the Age

These three ages are compared to three measures of meal by יהושע the Messiah. The Messiah taught in Matthew 13:33 and Luke 13:20-21 that during these three ages, which form the whole of the Present Age since the disruption of the world, the kingdom of Elohim on earth has been leavened with spiritual, moral and political corruption. However, the Messiah will cleanse the earth from sin before the Age of Life begins according to Deuteronomy 32:22-29, Malachi 4:1-6 and Matthew 3:8-12.

In Matthew 28:18-20, the Messiah said He would be with those who believe and obey Him even to the end of the Age of the Messiah. Paul said in Ephesians 1:7-10 that in the fullness of time by the end of Civil Year 6000, Elohim will gather all things together under the Messiah in the Age of Life. The Age of Life will begin with the Marriage of the Lamb in the seventh millennial day as alluded to in Isaiah 30:26. The Marriage of the Lamb at the beginning of the Age of Life will fulfill the prophecy in Daniel 9:24. At this time the Messiah will reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet according to 1 Corinthians 15:25. TheAge of Life is often translated in Scripture as eternal life and is commonly known as the Millennial Kingdom.

The Age of Life or Chayei Olam חיי עולם mentioned in Daniel 12:2 is the seventh millennium of history in which the resurrected righteous are destined to live. In Psalms 133, יהוה commanded the Age of Life as a blessing. It is referred to in the Messianic Scriptures as Zōē Aiōnios ζωη αιωνιος and translated eternal life. In John 6:66-68, Peter said that the Messiah had the words of the Age of Life. In Revelation 20:1-8, John said the Messiah will reign for 1000 years which is why it is called the Millennial Kingdom. יהושע the Messiah referred to the kingdom as paradise in Luke 23:42-43. Paul mentions paradise once in 2 Corinthians 12:1-4, and John mentions it once in Revelation 2:7.

Image Above NOTE: The resurrection of the damned occurs at the end of the Millennial Kingdom on Day 1 / Month 7 / Year 7001 at the end of Jubilee Year 140. The damned come against Jerusalem and are swiftly judged by the presence of Elohim who sits on a Great White Throne (Revelation 20:11). Satan, Death, Hades and whoever is not found in the Book of Life are cast into the Lake of Fire which is the Second Death. The end of the Age of Life initiates The World to Come or the Eternal State of the universe.

The Creation Calendar’s epoch for the beginning of The World to Come is sunset in Jerusalem beginning Yom Shi-shi (the sixth day of the week) on Day 1 / Month 7 / Year 7001. This moment is equivalent to 15:57 [± 5 minutes] Universal Time on Thursday, September 7, 3015 C.E. on the Gregorian Calendar. At this moment the damned are resurrected according to Daniel 12:2, John 5:28-29, Acts 24:15 and Revelation 20:5. At the resurrection of damnation, a damned person’s spirit will be joined with a new body. The Messiah said to fear Him who could throw both soul and body into the Lake of Fire (Matthew 10:28). The damned will be cast into the Lake of Fire at the Second Death (Revelation 21:8).

According to Revelation 20:2, Satan is bound for 1000 years. According to Revelation 20:7-9, Satan and the resurrected damned will come against Jerusalem when fire will devour them at the end of the Millennial Kingdom. According to Revelation 20:10-15, a Great White Throne will descend from heaven and all those whose names are not found in the Book of Life will be cast into the Lake of Fire which is the Second Death. According to 1 Corinthians 15:24-28, the Messiah will then deliver the kingdom to Elohim the Father so that Elohim may be in every way supreme. According to Revelation 21:2, the universe will be perfected at this time when New Jerusalem descends from heaven. The nations that are saved will walk in the light of New Jerusalem. These are those who do the commandments of Elohim as written in Revelation 22:14.

The Immortality of the Righteous

The Scriptures make it clear in Revelation 2:11 that those who overcome in the Present Age and inherit the Age of Life will not be hurt by the Second Death. According to Revelation 20:6, the resurrected righteous who inherit the Age of Life will also not be hurt by the Second Death. For יהושע the Messiah truly said that if anyone kept His sayings they would never experience death in this age – the Age of Life (John 8:51). The immortality of any child of Elohim who attains to the Age of Life is secure and they continue living for eternity in The World to Come.

According to Revelation 21:1-22:21, The World to Come (Olam Haba or the Eternal State) represents the perfection of the universe when all things are made new. The new heavens and new earth in The World to Come are different than the new heavens and new earth in the Age of Life. According to Revelation 21:10-27, New Jerusalem – a city with walls of transparent gold – will be suspended above the new earth in The World to Come. Where the Age of Life has seas according to Ezekiel 47:1-12, the eternal earth in The World to Come will not have a sea as written in Revelation 21:1.

The 7000 Year Plan of Elohim takes 2,556,699 days to complete. The completion of these days will fulfill the saying of יהושע the Messiah in Luke 22:37, The things concerning Me have an end.”

BILLY GRAHAM: What Does God Have in Store for the Grand Finale?

Four Horses of the Apocalypse (YouTube)

Note: This article appeared in the April 1984 issue of Charisma. It’s just as pertinent today as it was when it ran more than 31 years ago.

There is definitely a “mystery of iniquity” attached to the four horses in chapter six of Revelation. We may not fully understand everything that will happen when they come upon the earth.

But, Revelation does not end with chapter 6! For John points us in chapter 19 to another horse and rider—One who rides to bring the kingdom of God in all its fullness to earth. Like the first horse in chapter 6, this horse is white. But there the resemblance ends, for the rider of this horse is Jesus Christ Himself, coming in glory and power to the earth.

Let us see what the aged apostle is trying to tell us in the account of the rider on the white horse in Revelation 19. Chapters 7 to 18 deal with the catastrophic saga of history, perhaps just ahead, about which Jesus insisted we are to make no mistake, when “there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened” (Matthew 24:21, 22). It will be a time of nuclear conflagrations, biological holocausts and chemical apocalypses rolling over the earth, bringing man to the edge of the precipice. History will “bottom out” in the battle of Armageddon. We already see its shadow creeping over the earth.

Will man exterminate himself? He almost will, as Jesus stated. But just before man does so, Christ will come back! The demonized leaders “of the whole world” will have mobilized both as antagonists and protagonists of that coming world anti-God system—probably headed by the Antichrist. They’ll be “gathered,” we’re told, “together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon” (Revelation 16:16).

Franklin D. Roosevelt spoke of “the war to end all wars,” and now Ellen Goodman, the columnist, speaks of a possible ominous war ahead, “to end all life.” It won’t happen. God has other plans for the human race! Life is not going to be brought to a catastrophic end. God’s intervention will see to that.

Everywhere I go, people ask, “Are you an optimist or a pessimist?” My reply is that I’m an unswerving optimist. In the words of Robert Browning, “The best is yet to be.” I believe that, too.

It is estimated that forty wars are going on somewhere in the world at any given time. Any one of them could be the beginning of “the beginning of the end!”

So we have to ask: Can paradise be restored? Is there light at the end of the tunnel?

As the late Sir Winston Churchill asked a young American clergyman thirty years ago, “Young man, can you give me any hope?”

For the answer to Churchill’s question, I take you into the future by going back to the Bible.

In Revelation 19:10-13 the ancient apostle writes, “The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one but he himself knows. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.

So the four horses of the Apocalypse of Revelation 6 have gone on before. Other judgments have fallen. Now God is about to make His final move.

The identity of the rider on the white horse in Revelation 19 is the Lord Jesus Christ, Israel’s Messiah, head of the church, the King of kings and Lord of lords. The white horse of deception in Revelation 6 darkens into a dirty gray in comparison to the impeccable, immaculate white horse here in Revelation 19. Whereas the red horse in Revelation 6 inflicts war to kill and defoliate, this white horse, with the mounted “King of kings” draped in a robe dipped in blood, declares war on the killers—to establish His kingdom of salvation and peace. Whereas the black horse of Revelation 6 carries famine and disease, the white horse of Revelation 19 brings healing and the Bread of Life. And whereas the pale horse of Revelation 6 brings death and hell, the white horse of chapter 19 brings life and heaven to all who place their faith in Him.

When will the Man on the white horse, as outlined in Revelation 19, appear?

The clear teaching of the Word of God is that He will come when man has sunk to his lowest and most perilous point in all history—the time when the four horses of the Apocalypse, with their mounted riders, have run their course and pushed man to the very edge of the precipice. There is an eerie feeling throughout society today that concurs with the late Dr. Albert Schweitzer, who lamented, “Man has lost the capacity to foresee and to forestall. He will end by destroying the earth.” Left to himself, that is precisely what man would do. Barbra Streisand put her finger on the problem; she is reported in Esquire as having said, “I do believe the world is coming to an end. I just feel that science, technology and the mind have surpassed the soul—the heart. There is no balance in terms of feeling and love for fellow man.”

Who is better qualified to make a statement on this theme than the dean of behaviorists, Harvard’s B.F. Skinner?

At 78, Skinner shocked the American Psychological Association Convention (1982) by asking in understandable anger and anguish, “Why are we not acting to save the world? Is there to be much more history at all?” Asked afterward, “Has the observer of social conditioning lost his optimism?” his reply was, “I have … When I wrote Beyond Freedom and Dignity, I was optimistic about the future. A decade ago there was hope, but today the world is fatally ill … It is a very depressing way to end one’s life … The argument that we have always solved our problems in the past and shall, therefore, solve this one is like reassuring a dying man by pointing out that he has always recovered from his illness” (Philadelphia Inquirer, September 25, 1982).

Of War and Peace

In his article on “Psychology and Armageddon” in Psychology Today (May 1982), Harvard Professor of Psychiatry Dr. Robert Coles describes a prevailing feeling worldwide that mankind is heading for its final Armageddon.

The gamble that man will have taken will be the worst in all history.

The Antichrist or system will be a monstrous impostor, the incarnation of iniquity.

And all people the world over will think and say, “We’ve been had!” As I wrote earlier in this book, there is coming a time in the future—whether near or far I do not know (since Jesus warned us not to speculate on dates), when a counterfeit world system or ruler will establish a false utopia for an extremely short time.

The economic and political problems of the world will seem to be solved. But after a brief rule the whole thing will come apart. During this demonic reign tensions will mount, and once again the world will begin to explode with a ferocity involving conflict on an unparalleled scale.

Even the grip of the world leaders will be unable to prevent it. This massive upheaval will be the world’s last war—the battle of Armageddon.

According to secular and scientific writers, there is an inevitability to man’s date with Armageddon. “Everybody who’s anybody believes that global war is imminent,” reckons Phil Surguy of Today.

Arming for Armageddon

If I were not a believer in Christ, I might at this point in history succumb to total pessimism.

On August 10, 1982 Ellen Goodman wrote in her column that with “Armageddon perhaps around the corner, what are intelligent people to do? Wrap ourselves in mourning sheets and wait for the end?” Are we to stare up at that intimidating nuclear sword of Damocles that “has hung over us like some apocalypse without the promise of redemption?”

Emphatically not! Jesus urged that when universal holocaust begins “to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near” (Luke 21:28). Rather than pulling mourning sheets around us, we are to look for redemption in Christ. We are also to work as if these events are far in the future. Jesus promised a blessing on those who would be found working when their Lord returns.

I will not here deal with the who, what, why, how or when of Armageddon. But I know from a vast number of Scriptures that Armageddon will be interrupted by the return of Jesus Christ on the white horse leading the armies of heaven, as clearly prophesied in many Bible passages. In no place is it more definitively or dramatically described than in Revelation 19.

When John foresaw “heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True,” he went on to describe the rider as “the Word of God” followed by the armies of heaven “riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.” Turning his focus back on the coming Messiah, John saw that “out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. ‘He will rule them with an iron scepter’ ” (Revelation 19:11-15). And in case anyone gets confused as to His identity or authority, John makes it unmistakably plain, “On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written: King of kings and Lord of lords” (Revelation 19:16).

The Man on the White Horse

What does the man on the white horse do?

John makes clear that He and His army from heaven are faced with the Antichrist and the military forces gathered together to make war not only against each other but against the armies of heaven. But the Antichrist is “captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous sign on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur” (Revelation 19:20). The Antichrist’s collaborators and colleagues are all conquered by Jesus Christ.

Adolf Hitler’s grandiose notion of Nazism was that he would “last a thousand years.” It didn’t happen! Time (January 4, 1982) points back to Mao Tse-tung’s global “export of revolution” as an obsessive vision “to hasten the Communist millennium.” Mao’s aegis is gone, his vision already radically altered.

People may ask: Is John the only one who in this way made Christ’s second coming to this earth so plain?

No, the oldest extant quotation from all literature, to a Bible believer, has to be Jude 14 and 15. Jude cited, “Enoch, the seventh from Adam, who prophesied that the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of His holy ones to judge everyone” alive, including “all the ungodly.” And the ungodliest man or system ever will be the Antichrist. Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, “The Lord Jesus will overthrow [that lawless one] with the breath of His mouth and destroy [him] by the splendor of His coming” (2 Thessalonians 2:8).

The Return of Jesus Christ

The return of Jesus Christ is the great assurance for the Christian.

Seymour Siegel has commented, “The central problem of Christianity is: If the Messiah has come, why is the world so evil? For Judaism, the problem is: If the world is so evil, who does the Messiah not come?” The Messiah is coming to solve both dilemmas, and perhaps soon! Every devout orthodox Jewish worshiper prays every day, “I believe with complete faith in the coming of the Messiah. Even though He tarry, yet I will wait for Him every coming day.”

The Scripture says, “The government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over His kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever” (Isaiah 9:6,7).

The late Arnold Toynbee of Cambridge foresaw that “only a world government can save mankind from annihilation by nuclear weapons.” That’s right! And Jesus Christ will be the King over all the earth in His theocratic world government.

Jonathan Schell’s book The Fate of the Earth, which I have quoted several times, envisages a day when “existing institutions must give way to some sort of transcendent sovereignty and security, presumably by a government that embraces all mankind,” in fact “world government” (Time, April 19, 1982). That will happen when Christ returns.

What Happens to the Nuclear Monster?

And when Jesus Christ really does return to this earth with His saints to set up His kingdom, where He’ll rule as King of kings and Lord of lords, what will happen to what remains of the uncounted weapons of mass destruction, such as nuclear weapons and the biological, chemical, laser and outer-space weaponry that is today increasingly stockpiled around the world?

As I mentioned earlier, on a statue across from the United Nations building in New York is the inscription, “They will beat their swords into plowshares.” Where did that quotation come from? From the Bible!

In Micah 4, only one of many scriptural prophecies which deal with this catastrophic question, we read that the world’s “nations will come and say, ‘Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house (of the true God who)… will teach us His ways.’ ” As King of the world “He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war any more. Every man will sit under his own vine and under his own fig tree, and no one will make them afraid, for the Lord Almighty has spoken” (vv.2-4).

But in the long run the beating of “swords into plowshares” is something Jesus Christ Himself, as King over all the earth, will effectively enact.

The King Is Coming!

As Bill and Gloria Gaither lyricized for the world to sing, indeed “The King Is Coming!” What was future tense for Isaac Watts will be present tense then—”Jesus shall reign, where’er the sun/doth his successive journeys run;/His kingdom spread from shore to shore;/till moons shall wax and wane no more.” That precious promise makes life here exciting every moment, regardless of the circumstances.

The New Catholic Encyclopedia points out that the result of Christ’s triumph over Antichrist and the forces of evil will be a reign of Jesus Christ and His saints of all the ages over an earth that will know unprecedented prosperity and peace. From time immemorial, man has longed for a combination of true law and order, of peace and prosperity, of freedom and fulfillment, of health and happiness, of godliness and longevity on this earth. It will happen when Christ comes again to set up His kingdom.

A New World Coming

There can be no new world under present conditions. Something dramatic has to happen to alter man and his world.

That leaves us with only one absolute certainty about the future: Christ as the Prince of Peace, with the government upon His shoulders. The utopian dreams and schemes of the Platos, the Bellamys, the Owens and similar philosophers and idealists throughout history will all be fulfilled through His rule. That’s the message of the God-Man on the white horse coming down out of heaven, which the apostle John foresaw and recorded in Revelation 19.

John Milton yearned for “Paradise Restored.” I’m sure that for nearly a thousand years Adam longed to get back into the Garden of Eden, from which he was driven because of his sin. But he couldn’t! Professor John Walvoord puts it concisely, “The longing for perfect government, righteousness, equity, economic prosperity, and deliverance from insecurity and fears which plague the modern world finds its answer in the return of Christ and the establishment of His kingdom.”

The Scriptures have a great deal to teach us about the world of the coming Christ. The Messiah will take complete charge of the peoples of the entire earth. He “will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be glorious,” assures Isaiah. “The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—the spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the spirit of counsel and of power, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.” Throughout the world today people crave a society of peace and provision, but also one of goodness and justice. The Messiah Christ will implement all these, as “with righteousness He will judge the needy, with justice He will give decisions for the poor of the earth,” as “righteousness will be His belt and faithfulness the sash around His waist.” Will it work? Yes: “they will neither harm nor destroy … for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea” (Isaiah 11:10, 2-5, 9).

So transformed will the prevailing order be that even the animal world will be completely tamed. “The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child put his hand into the viper’s nest. They will neither harm nor destroy” is the promise of the coming King (Isaiah 11:6-9). This will be in complete contrast to the savage beasts, scavenger birds, devouring insects and raging diseases that have been among the most ferocious foes of primitive and civilized man from the Adamic to the atomic ages.

A Message from the Messiah

This leads me to contemplate from the Scriptures that future era under the reign of the Messiah.

Sickness will be remedied by Christ, the great Healer of nations. And He will remove all deformities and handicaps. At that time there’ll be no designated spots on parking lots, or graduated ramps on buildings, for the handicapped. There will be no blindness, deafness, muteness, paralysis—no need for eyeglasses, hearing aids, speech therapy, wheelchairs, crutches, or white canes. “No one living,” assures Isaiah (33:24), “will say, ‘I am ill.’ ” “I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord” through Jeremiah (30:17). “Declares the Sovereign Lord” through Ezekiel (34:15, 16), “I will bind up the injured.” “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come,” prophesies Isaiah, and “then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the haunts where jackals once lay, grass and reed and papyrus will grow. And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness” (Is. 35:4-8).

“Surely the day is coming” prophesied Malachi (4:1, 2) in the last chapter of the Old Testament, when the peoples of the world will finally “revere My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings.” And in the last chapter of the New Testament, we read that there will stand in that era “the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse” (Rev. 22:2, 3). “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (Rev. 21:4).

Currently, as Paul wrote to the Romans (8:18-21, 22), “the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.” But “our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed,” for the whole “creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed, for the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.”

Our Vanishing Problems

We’ve had enormous controversies in and beyond the church, throughout the world, on birth control, abortion and euthanasia. These problems will all vanish as the curse on the earth is removed, and in place of thorns and thistles, drought and deserts, will be fruits and vegetables, fountains and fertility.

Rabbi Dr. Harvey Fields was so right recently to exclaim, partly from exasperation but mostly from expectation, “Without the Messiah, the human enterprise would crash into darkness forever.” But thank God, the Messiah is coming. He saves individuals today. In the great tomorrow, He will make all creation.

One day it will happen. The prophet Isaiah predicted, “The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.” Yes, the world will be like the “splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the Lord, the splendor of our God” (Is. 35:1, 2).

A Pointed Invitation

With that kind of future ahead for believers, and beyond that in eternity with Christ and the believers of all the ages in a new heaven as well as a new earth, I could not finish this without a pointed invitation to you as a reader to be absolutely sure that you are Christ’s.

And in feeling this way so strongly, I am only reflecting exactly the way the ancient apostle John felt. He simply could not conclude the Revelation of Jesus Christ without making the last six verses of his book one of the most compelling invitations to repent of sin and receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord to be found anywhere in the entire Bible.

“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this testimony for the churches,” is what we read in Revelation 22:16. Jesus Christ Himself wants John to make no mistake about it. After envisaging a panorama of scenes covering the past, the present and the future; after peering deep into the heavens, the earth and hell; after being introduced to God, to man all the way from his best to his worst and to Satan himself—Jesus wants the last word!

Why? Because, as we read in chapter 1 (v. 5), He is the one above all others “who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood” shed on the cross for our sins to purchase our pardon and peace. And He is, therefore, the One to whom we are ultimately as well as immediately answerable. Later in that first chapter (vv. 17, 18) He assured, “I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One, I was dead and behold I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades”—of hell itself!

In chapter 3 (v. 20) Jesus comes a step closer and declares, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will go in and eat with him, and he with Me.” Jesus is saying to you, right now, that if you have never admitted Him as Savior and Lord into your life, you not only vitally need to do so now, you can do so now! Many say, “There is no need.” But the goodness of God should lead to repentance.

When, however, difficulties and heartaches come into your life, God can use those “hard knocks” to show you your need of Christ in every circumstance. It may be a business disappointment, a reverse in your love life, a broken marriage, a tragic bereavement, a hopelessly severed or even strained relationship between you and a parent or child. It could be the gradual or rapid deterioration of your own health. Whatever your disappointment, it’s His appointment!

So He’s knocking at your heart’s door, just as when there’s a knock on the door of your home. You may open the door and invite the individual on the threshold in to share in your hospitality and friendship. Or you may indeed simply ignore the knock. It’s that way with Jesus knocking at your heart’s door. Right now, you can bow your head on an airplane, in a jail—in an office, in a hotel, in a hospital or in your home, and you can open your heart to Christ by a simple prayer of faith.

So we have this good news made possible in the past by Christ’s everlasting love and death on the cross for us.

And we have His knocking at our heart’s door in the present, seeking possession of our lives, not only for our eternal benefit, but—incredibly—for His also. He wants to “show us off” to the rest of the universe as an example of what His grace can do. Then, in chapter 4 (v. 1) we are shown the future, invited through John’s eyes to look ahead: “And there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, ‘Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.’ ” And Jesus gives us a preview of the heaven He has gone to prepare for us.

You ask: What if I reject Jesus Christ and choose instead the way of sin? He is also loving and caring enough to warn you of the peril of that route.

In Revelation 21 He makes unmistakably clear that “the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters, and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur.” Then He assures, “This is the second death” (Rev. 21:8), so “I, Jesus,” initiate this final biblical invitation. “I, Jesus … give you this testimony” (Rev. 22:16).

Accompanying Christ’s testimony is the powerful voice of the Holy Spirit who says, “Come! (Rev. 22:17).

It would be completely futile for me to preach the gospel, as I have done to many people every year for the past generation, if the Holy Spirit were not convicting the hearers of their sin and prompting them to open their hearts to Christ. And your reading of this is entirely in vain, if through doing so, the Holy Spirit has not inspired you to spiritual growth or, if you are not a believer, issued an unmistakable call to you to give your life to Jesus Christ. Right now, the Holy Spirit is saying one thing to you, “Come!” Come to Christ! Open your life to His salvation and to His control.

In verse 17 we read, “the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ ” The bride of Christ is His church. It is made up of those who have received Him as Lord and Savior. Doing so, we take His name and are thereafter known as Christians. We love Him and we live with Him as our Lord, to the exclusion of all others. He has promised to provide for all of our needs. So, we’re the bride! He is the bridegroom!

Then again, Jesus invites, “Let him who hears say, ‘Come!’ ” (v. 17). We’re told that “faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ” (Rom. 10:17). One of the verses I have used most frequently to lead people into a saving experience with Jesus Christ is John 5.24. It is Jesus speaking, “I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.” That’s one of the clearest promises in all of the Bible as to how to come to Christ. Then, when we come to Christ, we’ll urge others to come to Christ. When we confess Jesus as Lord of our lives, we’ll want to confess Him before others.

Whoever is thirsty, let him come” (Rev. 22:17), testifies Jesus! So many are chronically thirsty but can’t put a finger on what that thirst is or a handle on how to quench it. Pascal, the great French physicist and philosopher of the 17th century, noted that all humans have in their hearts a God-shaped void that only Jesus can fill. John had already written in his Gospel years before what Jesus said to a morally mixed-up woman at the Samaritan well: “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:13, 14).

Do you have that thirst deep down in your soul that has characterized all people who have ever lived, but especially many of the great men and women of history?

Riches cannot quench that thirst! Knowledge cannot quench that thirst! Alcohol cannot quench that thirst! Drugs cannot quench that thirst! Sex or romance cannot quench that thirst! But Christ can! And He asks you right now, wherever you are, to come to Him. Believe in Him! Tell Him that you do! Call upon Him to save your soul, to satisfy your thirst with the water of eternal life.

Again, in Revelation 22:17, Jesus repeats the invitation one final time with the strongest and most inclusive call of all: “And whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.” By this, Jesus is saying that—from our human viewpoint—a decision for Christ is entirely a matter of the will. God has done everything possible to bring you salvation; you can add nothing to what He has done. If you wish to be saved and go to heaven, you can, by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior. If you wish not to be saved and therefore to be lost forever, that also is your privilege. Insofar as Jesus is concerned, He “wants, all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim. 2:4).

Peter, writing the closing chapter of his two letters, pleads that Christ is certainly “not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Pet. 3:9). I cannot think of how God could open the door wider for you to enter into the household of faith! And to be sure that no one thinks salvation is something we buy, contribute to or earn, He clarifies, “Take the free gift.”

Jesus Christ rose from the dead to be alive forever. And because He is alive, and because He can be everywhere at once, He is right there where you’re reading. All you have to do is take Him, receive Him.

You might reply, “But I’ve received people into my life before, in relationships that didn’t last and I’m wondering, will Jesus Christ love me and leave me? Will He take me and then forsake me, even perhaps forget that I exist?

No! In the next to the last verse in the Bible, Jesus “testifies” to you, “Yes, I am coming soon.” The old apostle is so happy about that reassurance that he replies, “Come, Lord Jesus!” When you really mean your commitment to Christ not just as a momentary, but as an ongoing relationship, you will have Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior forever. You can choose to “be with the Lord forever” (1 Thess. 4:17).

You may have one final hesitation. You may ask, “But could I live the Christian life on my own?

No, you couldn’t! But you will not be on your own. Christ gives you day-by-day and moment-by-moment His unmerited favors. He strengthens, energizes and directs your life. The last verse in the Bible, Revelation 22:21, promises, “The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.” What more could you desire, ask or ever hope for than that the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you forever?

Let me offer you a final suggestion.

I had led tens of thousands who have come forward to make decisions for Christ in every part of the world ‘in this simple prayer:

“O God, I am a sinner. I’m sorry for my sins. I’m willing to turn from my sins.

I receive Christ as Savior.

I confess Him as Lord. From this moment on I want to follow Him and serve Him in the fellowship of His church.

In Christ’s name, Amen.”

Toward World Currency Control

Globe: One World Government feature

The Bible does not use the phrase “one-world government” or “one-world currency” in referring to the end times.

It does, however, provide ample evidence to enable us to draw the conclusion that both will exist under the rule of the Antichrist in the last days.

Beast, Antichrist rising out of the sea having seven heads and ten horns:

Koinonia Institute
In his vision in the Book of Revelation, the Apostle John sees the “beast,” also called the Antichrist, rising out of the sea having seven heads and ten horns (Revelation 13:1). Combining this vision with Daniel’s similar one (Daniel 7:16–24), we can conclude that some sort of world system will be inaugurated by the beast, the most powerful “horn,” who will defeat the other nine and will begin to wage war against Christians.

A ‘Ruler’ with A ‘Vast Empire’ having ‘Power’ and ‘Great Authority’ given to him by ‘Satan’:

“… so that no one may buy or sell unless he has the mark, which is the beast’s name or the number of its name.” — Revelation 13:17, (ISV)

… so that no one may buy or sell unless he has the mark, which is the beast’s name or the number of its name.” — Revelation 13:17, (ISV)

John goes on to describe the ruler of this vast empire as having power and great authority, given to him by Satan himself (Revelation 13:2), being followed by and receiving worship from “all the world” (Revelation 13:3–4), and having authority over “every tribe, people, language and nation” (Revelation 13:7). From this description, it is logical to assume that this person is the leader of a one-world government which is recognized as sovereign over all other governments. Twentieth Century history and current events doesn’t make it hard to imagine how such diverse systems of government as are in power today would willingly subjugate themselves to a single ruler.

The disasters and plagues described in Revelation as the seal and trumpet judgments (chapters 6–11) will be so devastating and create such a monumental global crisis that people will embrace anything and anyone who promises to give them relief.

Once entrenched in power, the beast (Antichrist) and the power behind him (Satan) will move to establish absolute control over all peoples of the earth to accomplish their true end, the worship Satan has been seeking ever since being thrown out of heaven (Isaiah 14:12–14). One way they will accomplish this is by controlling all commerce, and this is where the idea of a one-world currency comes in.

Satanic mark in order to buy and sell:

Revelation 13:16–17 describes some sort of satanic mark which will be required in order to buy and sell. This means anyone who refuses the mark will be unable to buy food, clothing or other necessities of life. No doubt the vast majority of people in the world will succumb to the mark simply to survive. Again, verse 16 makes it clear that this will be a universal system of control where everyone, rich and poor, great and small, will bear the mark on their hand or forehead. There is a great deal of speculation as to how exactly this mark will be affixed, but the technologies that are available right now could accomplish it very easily.

2015 April 21st one-world currency:

There also seems to have been moves afoot recently to implement a one-world currency.

In April of 2010 a paper was released by the Strategy, Policy and Review Department of the IMF (International Monetary Fund) titled “Reserve Accumulation and International Monetary Stability”. In the introduction of the document, the task force advocated the establishment of the Bancor as a one world currency, a sui generis, that the entire world would use. It also recommended the establishment of a single global central bank to administer the currency.

The paper states that the current system of Special Drawing Rights (SDR) between countries currently in use is an inadequate method of commerce between countries in today’s global economy:

A limitation of the SDR as discussed previously is that it is not a currency. Both the SDR and SDR-denominated instruments need to be converted eventually to a national currency for most payments or interventions in foreign exchange markets, which adds to cumbersome use in transactions. And though an SDR-based system would move away from a dominant national currency, the SDR’s value remains heavily linked to the conditions and performance of the major component countries.

The IMF suggests that the world’s nations “develop, over time, a global currency. Called, for example, Bancor in honor of Keynes, such a currency could be used as a medium of exchange—an “outside money” (outside the world monetary system) in contrast to the SDR which remains an “inside money”.

As the report implies, the idea of a Bancor as a world currency is not a new idea.

In August 1942, in his work, “Proposals for an International Clearing Union”, Lord John Maynard Keynes outlined a plan where the countries of the world would convert their gold reserves to Bancors as a modicum of trade. In an interesting section of the paper, countries could convert gold into Bancors, but could not convert Bancors back to gold. In the Keynes paper, countries could leave the consortium of countries using the Bancor, but they leave their gold behind. It is a one-way ticket.

As like most governmental proposals, they never die, they just come back again under a different form (Common Core is a recent example).

The Keynes plan also .includes an interesting reason for using Bancors:

There is no country which can, in future, safely allow the flight of funds for political reasons or to evade domestic taxation or in anticipation of the owner turning refugee.

That is the endgame — capital controls.

With a one world currency, people would no longer be able to leave countries for other places that had lower taxes, as has recently happened with France. While France had to rescind its 75% wealth tax after wealthy individuals left for greener pastures, such as England and Belgium, if there was a one world currency, travel restrictions .could be placed on these individuals to keep them where they are. Actually, it is not the people these countries would be interested in, it would be their money.

While a global currency may not be in the offing, there may be a more immediate way to control currency flight and speculation, do away with currency altogether.

Willem Buiter, an economist for Citigroup, a global bank, suggests the reason for the world’s economic troubles is the existence of cash. Banks now are paying negative interest rates (meaning you pay the bank to keep your money and its value is also reduced through inflation).

A saver is better off keeping their money stuffed in a mattress than keeping it in a bank. Cash, therefore, is an effective way of avoiding this negative savings rate.

To Buiter, this is a bad thing. Keeping cash instead of putting it in the banking system deprives the banks (and the government) the use of this money.

In the Keynesian monetary theory, less money in the system would raise interest rates and thus reduce the demand for the money in way of loans. This is anathema to Keynesian economists. The thing to do is to abolish cash. Abolishing cash would end the last remnants of financial privacy. It would also increase a government’s ability to manipulate the economy with negative interest rates.

Buiter proposes three ways to separate the people from their cash:

  1. Abolish currency.
  2. Tax currency.
  3. Remove the fixed exchange rate between currency and central bank reserves/deposits.

Buiter correctly assumes that there would be resistance to this proposal, but he believes that “the arguments against abolishing currency seem rather weak.” As stated before, these ideas may not take root immediately, but they will come back in another form.

Events in geopolitics and financial markets are making things clear that we are living in a time that is spoken of in the Bible more than any other time, including the time that Jesus walked the shores of Galilee or climbed the mountains of Judea.

The question is, are you ready?

The Errors of Replacement Theology

Heresy Button feature

Much of the anti-Semitism in the world today can be traced to a concept called “Replacement Theology”.

by khouse.org Editor:
This principle presents the thesis that the church has replaced Israel in God’s plan. Replacement Theology teaches that the church is the replacement for Israel and that the many promises made to Israel in the Bible are fulfilled in the Christian Church, not in Israel.

AugustinusAurelius Augustinus, the bishop of Hippo (354–430), better known as Saint Augustine, was a leader of the Church during the fourth and fifth centuries AD. Under his influence, Christianity embraced a doctrine of anti–Semitism.

From Augustine teachings, the Church came to a view that the Jews were a lost race without hope of redemption. The Church determined that Israel had forfeited her covenants by rejecting Christ. This concept produced a dramatic shift in early Church politics, worldviews, and eschatology.

The leaders of the Church of Rome began to teach that all the future messianic promises of natural Israel were transferred to the new spiritual Israel—the Church.

What follows is Part One of a two part series on the errors of Replacement Theology.

The author, Dr. William Welty, is the Executive Director of the ISV foundation and also serves as Research Analyst in Advanced Communication Technologies and Adjunct Professor of Middle Eastern Studies on the faculty of Koinonia Institute.

white paper:

View 1: Conservative, evangelical Christian tradition teaches that Jesus the Messiah will one day establish a worldwide empire with Jerusalem as the international federal district, or capital city, of the entire earth. This restored and expanded national Israel will serve as the Messiah’s seat of power for a period of one thousand years. The technical term of theology that is traditionally used to describe this hegemony over the earth is the Millennium, a term that descends from the Latin word meaning one thousand, a direct reference to a specific time period mentioned in Revelation 20:1–10. The establishment of Messiah’s rule over the earth is clearly stated by the larger context of this passage from the book of Revelation as occurring subsequent to his coming. That’s why this view of the rule of the Messiah is called Pre-Millennialism.

View 2: But some Christian groups claim that since the only reference to a specific duration for the rule of Messiah as lasting 1,000 years is contained in Revelation 20:1–10, and since the book consists of apocalyptic symbols, the reference to a reign lasting for exactly ten centuries must also be symbolic. Those who believe that the Millennium will be of an indefinite, or non-ending, duration are called A-Millennialists. This group also considers the rule of Jesus from Jerusalem as the capital city of the earth to be symbolic.

View 3: A third view of the Millennial reign of the Messiah, one which today seems to be held only by theonomists and other aberrant Christian groups, holds the view that the world will gradually be conquered by the Gospel, after which time Jesus will return to assume the reins of world hegemony. This view is called Post-Millennialism.

cross-Post-MillennialismWe reject Post-Millennialism for the very pragmatic reason that the world isn’t getting better and better. Quite the opposite, the New Testament makes it clear that the world will become worse and worse until the time of world-wide judgment commonly called the 70th week of Daniel begins.

cross-A-MillennialismWe reject A-Millennialism on the grounds that it misunderstands the meaning and purpose of apocalyptic symbolism. The events described in apocalyptic literature by symbols are described as symbols, not because they are less literal than normal life, but because they transcend normal life. Apocalyptic images are, in a word, more literal than “real” life.

Tick1The Pre-Millennia view of the rule of Jesus the Messiah over the earth with Jerusalem as his capital city fits the natural context of the book of Revelation. Accordingly, we endorse that view.

The Rise of Replacement Theology: A Consequence of Rejecting Pre-Millennialism

But one of the consequences of rejecting a Pre-Millennial view of end time events has been the rise of Replacement Theology, which claims that God is finished with his dealings with Israel.

The erroneous doctrine of Replacement Theology springs from the false view that the existence of modern Israel was not brought about in 1948 as part of a divine plan for Israel. Replacement Theology traditionally has been embraced by groups such as the Anglican Church. Certain anti-Semitic, pro-Palestinian, and anti-Israel groups that claim to be Christian are also known to embrace this view of modern Israel.

In the Bible, the prophetic books of Daniel and the Revelation to John consist primarily of apocalyptic literature. This literary genre arose to popularity and prominence during the time period between the close of the Hebrew Scripture canon in the mid-fifth century BC and the completion of the New Testament canon in the mid-first century AD.

While it’s true that end-time prophecies address the entire non-believing inhabitants of the earth, a restored Israel and its enemies are the primary focus of the Bible’s prophecies regarding end time events.

Apocalyptic literature discusses how God is going to defeat Israel’s enemies and fulfill the promises made to Israel about the reign of Messiah HaNaggid, the Messiah-Prince of Israel, over all of the earth.

Is the United States or any other nation Israel?

No. Irrespective of what you may think of the uniquely American doctrines of manifest destiny and American exceptionalism, the United States of America is not Israel.

Is the United States or any other non-Muslim nation state an enemy of Israel?

No. Not at present, at least, despite what some perceive as the best efforts of the currently sitting President of the United States to change that status.

Therefore from the standpoint of apocalyptic literature, all nations other than Israel and its enemies are not mentioned by name in biblical prophecy for the same reason that Australia, Costa Rica, Nauru, New Zealand, the United States of America, or even Zimbabwe are not mentioned: these nations are not* the focus of end time events.

The Apostle Paul’s Refutation of Replacement Theology

Romans 9–11: The Apostle Paul answers the errors of Replacement Theology in the ninth through the eleventh chapters of his letter to the Christians who were living in Rome. He writes in

Romans 9:4–5 that to the Israelis alone:

4 … belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the Law, the worship, and the promises. 5 To the Israelis belong the patriarchs, and from them, the Messiah descended, who is God over all, the one who is forever blessed. Amen.

In the post-Crucifixion world of the first century, A.D., the Apostle Paul reminds us that God’s plan for Israel has never been abandoned. Paul informs us in Romans 9:6–8:

6 Now it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all Israelis truly belong to Israel, 7 and not all of Abraham’s descendants are his true descendants. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that descendants will be named for you.” 8 That is, it is not merely the children born through natural descent who were regarded as God’s children, but it is the children born through the promise who were regarded as descendants.

His comments in Romans 9:7 that “not all of Abraham’s descendants are his true descendants” serve as a reminder that there is more to being Jewish than merely being a descendant of Abraham. It will be this truth that forms the basis for the salvation of the non-Jews to whom Paul directed the majority of his evangelistic efforts. Paul also reminds us that God is righteous to take this posture with respect to belief in him. In Romans 9:14–16, he writes:

14 What can we say, then? God is not unrighteous, is he? Of course not! 15 For he says to Moses, “I will be merciful to the person I want to be merciful to, and I will be kind to the person I want to be kind to.” 16 Therefore, God’s choice does not depend on a person’s will or effort, but on God himself, who shows mercy.

God’s willingness to base salvation on the requirement to believe stands opposed to being related to Abraham. In Romans 9:23–26, the Apostle Paul asks the following not-so-rhetorical question:

Can’t he also reveal his glorious riches to the objects of his mercy that he has prepared ahead of time for glory— including us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but from the gentiles as well? As the Scripture says in Hosea,

“Those who are not my people
I will call my people,
and the one who was not loved
I will call my loved one.
In the very place where it was told them,
‘You are not my people,’
they will be called children of the living God.”

Distinguishing Including Gentiles from National Abandonment of Israel

The Apostle Paul asks his Roman Christian audience in Romans 11:1-12 this important question, and also provides his answer to the query he poses:

1 So I ask, “God has not rejected his people, has he?” Of course not! I am an Israeli myself, a descendant of Abraham from the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God has not rejected his people whom he chose long ago. …

5 So it is at the present time: there is a remnant, chosen by grace. 6 But if this is by grace, then it is no longer on the basis of actions. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace.
7 What, then, does this mean? It means that Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking, but the selected group obtained it while the rest were hardened. 8 As it is written,
“To this day God has put them into deep sleep.
Their eyes do not see, and their ears do not hear.”

9 And David says,
“Let their table become a snare and a trap,
a stumbling block and a punishment for them.
10 Let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see,
and keep their backs forever bent.”
11 And so I ask, “They have not stumbled so as to fall, have they?” Of course not! On the contrary, because of their stumbling, salvation has come to the gentiles to make the Jews jealous. 12 Now if their stumbling means riches for the world, and if their fall means riches for the gentiles, how much more will their full participation mean!

Do note, won’t you please, how the Apostle Paul ends this section of Romans 11 by using the future tense verb to describe the coming “full participation” (to use Paul’s own words) in the unfolding plan of God for the world.

The only way that this final sentence in verse twelve can carry any existential meaning at all is if God has not abandoned Israel permanently.

There remains a future place for national Israel, and therefore Replacement Theology is a false doctrine with no biblical support. Also, please notice how Paul concludes Romans 11 with the following argument:

15 For if their rejection results in reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance bring but life from the dead? … 17 Now if some of the branches have been broken off, and you, a wild olive branch, have been grafted in their place to share the rich root of the olive tree, 18 do not boast about being better than the other branches. If you boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you. …
23 If the Jews do not persist in their unbelief, they will be grafted in again, because God is able to graft them in. …
25 For I want to let you know about this secret, brothers, so that you will not claim to be wiser than you are: Stubbornness has come to part of Israel until the full number of the gentiles comes to faith. 26 In this way, all Israel will be saved, as it is written,
“The Deliverer will come from Zion;
he will remove ungodliness from Jacob.
27 This is my covenant with them
when I take away their sins.”

Summary and Conclusions

Replacement Theology is false because it fails to make a distinction between the temporary setting aside of God’s dealings with national Israel so as to bring the Gospel to the ends of the earth, where the gentiles live, and a permanent setting aside of God’s dealing with Israel, which cannot happen due to the promise that God made to his original covenant people. The gentiles have been grafted into God’s family through the faith requirements of the Gospel of Jesus the Messiah, and as the end of days sees the fulfillment of God’s plan concerning Israel as a nation, we will again see the hand of God moving on behalf of the modern nation. Indeed, it’s already evident from even the most cursory of examinations of the history of conflict in that nation between the Jews and their enemies that the same God who sovereignly moved to protect his own people in the past is doing so again.

Signs: Christ’s Return? (03) Behavioural attitudes ie. Blasphemy, Disobedience, Lack of Gratitude, Ungodliness, Lying, And Broken Promises

Jack van Impe feature

Why are behavioral attitudes such as blasphemy, disobedience, lack of gratitude, ungodliness, lying, and broken promises signs of Christ’s return?

Sinful attitudes which move us away from a holy God have been with us since the fall of man. If you read world history, however, you will notice the sins of humankind have become progressively worse-some would say more creative in their evil. The bad news is that tomorrow they even become worse (2 Timothy 3:13). Let us look at the six signs of Christ’s imminent return referred to in the above question.

Blasphemy is a sin against the Lord Jesus Christ.

The apostle Paul indicated that he “was before a blasphemer” (1 Timothy 1:13).

What had Paul done? He murdered Christians and hated the name of Jesus Christ.

Today the physical murder of Christians continues unabated. I recently received two reports of hundreds of Christians who are being persecuted for their faith in the nations of China and India.

The name of Jesus is not honored in those places. Pastors are being thrown in jail; individual Christians must worship in secret, lest they be taken before the authorities. In many places of our world, the name of Jesus is blasphemed, and Christians are suspect. In fact, this would be a good time to pray for Christians throughout the world who serve the Master faithfully in difficult places, even as it puts them in danger.

However, let us keep the issue on our own doorsteps for a moment.

Many so-called Christians are equally blasphemous. Scores of our seminaries, for example, are filled with students and professors who mock the doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His deity, blood atonement, and bodily resurrection. Intelligent scholars teach a “higher criticism” of the Bible when, in fact, they proclaim the lowest form of interpretation possible because, in their disbelief, they blaspheme the Christ of the Scriptures.

Surveys indicate that 70 percent of our ministers are infected by this spiritual sickness.

God help us if these statistics are accurate.

Can there be any doubt that Jesus Christ is coming soon?

There is nothing new about this sin, particularly when it comes to children disobeying their parents. Some young people say that they love Jesus Christ, yet when their parents make requests, they treat them disrespectfully and are willfully disobedient.

Do these alleged Christian youth really believe the message of God’s Word?

It makes me wonder. Ephesians 6:1-3 admonishes, “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise … and thou mayest live long on the earth.

I was moved recently as I studied John 19:26-27. These verses portray Jesus Christ hanging on the cross, dying for our sins. As He was about to die, He looked down and saw His mother, Mary, standing beneath the cross. “Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother!

Even in the last moments of life, as He was dying for the entire world, the Lord Jesus Christ fervently loved His mother. He came to fulfill the law, and He said in Matthew 19:19, “Honour thy father and thy mother.

The growing numbers of disobedient and disrespectful young people are a sign that Jesus is coming soon.

We must remember that freedom is not license to do anything we want; freedom is the privilege God gives us to do the right thing!

Disobedience to human authority and to God is on the rise; it is one of the major signs that signal Christ’s return.

Many people-Christians included-find it difficult to give credit where credit is due.

Because they seek their own glory, they refuse to recognize the accomplishments and contributions of others whom God has sent to share the labor and service.

Many simply do not take the time to say:

Thank You, Lord” for answered prayer.

Still others are ashamed to pray in a restaurant. When they do bow their heads, they sit there and scratch their eyebrows for a few seconds so no one will think they are talking to Almighty God. My friend, of what are we afraid?

Has the world so squeezed us into its own mold that we are indistinguishable from the world system?

Are you thankful? Do you have an attitude of gratitude?

Show it!

What a graphic picture of our world as we step into a new millennium. During the end times, godly separation from the world, according to the Bible, will be sneered at as bigotry.

When one rails against XXX-rated movies, the lewd lyrics of much of today’s rock music, the cancer-producing effects of tobacco (including smokeless tobacco), the soul-damning habits of drugs and alcohol, some Christians immediately change the subject and say, “Let’s not talk about secondary issues.

The holiness of God and holy living are not secondary issues.

1 Thessalonians 4 declares,

For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

1 Thessalonians 4:7

First Peter 1 teaches,

Be ye holy; for I am holy.

First Peter 1:16

Again, this sign indicates that Jesus is coming soon. I encourage you to read God’s Word and come to your own conclusions. All the signs in 2 Timothy 3 speak of Christendom and the professing Church in the last days. These final days are now upon us.

The phrase, “Without natural affection(2 Timothy 3:3), refers to the breakup of families through a lack of love.

Look at the divorce rate, the murder of babies through abortion, the stories about parents beating their little ones to death, and you will know this sign is being fulfilled. For millions, the marriage vow has become a cruel joke.

For millions, commitment is a word in a foreign tongue. Broken promises are the order of the day. Has someone shared a confidence entreating your prayer support?

Did you keep it, or did you spread gossip about that person?

Promise breaking is a pivotal end-time sign mentioned in the Bible. While stadiums around the world are filled with promise keepers, unfortunately there are more living rooms, boardrooms, and bedrooms filled with promise breakers.

False accusers” (v. 3) is the term that refers to this sin. Churches in our nation and around the globe are coming apart at the seams because of exaggerated stories (outright lies in many cases) church members spread about their so-called friends. When a person falsely accuses a brother, he breaks God’s ninth commandment.

Exodus 20:16 says, “Thou shalt not bear false witness.

Do you know what will happen to false accusers?

Revelation 21:8 says, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone.

You will notice that in this book, I am coming down harder on Christians than on unbelievers. We who say we honor Christ should know better. We are held to a higher standard than those who do not know the Savior, Yes, the end-time clock is ticking faster and faster; sins of the flesh and the spirit will increase; lying and half-truths will continue unabated.

That is why during these perilous times you and I must remain firm, believe what we say we believe, and stand in the gap as we anticipate the return of our Lord in all His glory.

What about a world that is out of control, with an increasing number of murders and sex-on-demand overtures on the Internet? Are these signs that the return of our Lord is near?

We live in a world that is spinning out of control. Murder is on the increase. Students in our high schools are killing their classmates and their parents. Virtual-reality sex on the Internet is becoming a national pastime for adults and children alike. Our loved ones are increasingly at risk as they download material of prurient interest now available at the click of a mouse button in the privacy of one’s own home.

Still, for all the “power” supposedly available to our citizens, people are more powerless than ever. What does the Bible say about such pursuits?

How do such sins suggest that the return of Christ may be near?

In Matthew 7:18 we read that a good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. This is what we are seeing in our society today. There are lots of “trees” growing all around us.

The good ones honor God and bring glory to His name. The bad ones, however, continue to put forth branches that are diseased and deformed. Let us look at the four areas mentioned in this question.

Incontinent would be the best term to define this problem.

It speaks of the lack of control over one’s sexual appetites.

The world says, “Live it up. Premarital and extramarital sex are good and healthy-just be ‘safe’ with your sex.

I say, “Let God be true, but every man a liar” (Romans 3:4).

Sex is pure and holy in marriage.

Hebrews 13 states,

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled.

However; the verse continues,

whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

Hebrews 13:4

What God demands and what our society craves are light-years apart.

Look at these four statistics:

• One out of every two marriages ends in divorce.[1]POINT 1: Stats: as at 2013

• The average age today for divorce is thirty-four for men and thirty for women.

• In the 1960s, a woman was responsible for one of every ten households with no husband present; in 1986, a woman carried out her duties in one of every six households with no husband present.

• One million teenage girls will become pregnant out of wedlock this year.[2]POINT 2: Stats: as at 2013

Some men would be minus their front teeth if they spoke to the server in a restaurant like they talk to their wives at home.

They claim they love Jesus Christ. They are great Christians at church, but what a fierce, vicious temper they exhibit at home and at work.

Anger is killing people on the freeways; it is responsible for accelerated spousal and child abuse, and it is destroying relationships at the office and in the church.

The Bible says,

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice“.

Ephesians 4:31

My friend, when a person has not been redeemed by the love of Christ, he or she will fall prey to an angry spirit. When this unholy spirit takes over a family, a community, a state, a nation, and a world, we know that the end is near.

Lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God“.

2 Timothy 3:4

In the last days, people-professing Christians included-will be lovers of pleasure more than lovers of our heavenly Father. We have become a nation-and a world- of hedonists. This sign is evident as churches increasingly use the tactics of the entertainment business to draw crowds.

People want to be amused; so many churches feel they must meet the cravings of their pleasure-mad constituents.

How else are the lukewarm and backslidden going to be held together? How else can halfhearted members be attracted to the services? Consequently, the latest Christian minstrel show takes the place of the Word of God.

God has not called us to run a showboat to entertain those who would be amused but a lifeboat to save the lost from ultimate destruction.

Many religious telecasts and crusades today feature unsaved or carnal personalities whose lives are a mockery to God. Still, they appear because entertainers draw crowds.

Many evangelistic meetings feature folks who are still working in nightclubs where drinking, gambling, filthy jokes, and solicitation of sex are prevalent.

Is this a sign of the end or what!

The organizers rationalize their activity by saying, “It does not matter, because the end justifies the means. If these religious fakes draw crowds, then it must be the right thing to do.” God forgive us!

Through it all, people without Christ are lulled to sleep and made to feel religious while every carnal desire of the flesh is gratified under the sanction of the Church.

Will this continue?

Yes, I am afraid it will. That is why it behooves Bible-believing Christians to stand up and be counted on this issue.

Powerless Believers

We eat power lunches, wear power ties, demand more horsepower in our automobiles, and ingest power vitamins. Power, power, power.

The Bible talks a great deal about our quest for this power, which is, in reality, a false sense of security.

Paul wrote to Timothy,

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof .

2 Timothy 3:5

It should be obvious by now that the world system has no staying power. Zero!

What concerns me more is that there is so little power in the Church. How could it be otherwise, when the Church has strayed so far from seeking and doing God’s will?

Study this sign in the Scriptures, and you will be compelled to come to one conclusion:

Soon the trumpet of God shall sound and we shall hear three words, “Come up hither” (Revelation 4:1).

Then, in the twinkling of an eye, we will sweep through the heavens to meet Jesus.

Signs: Christ’s Return? (01) What Are The Signs of Christ’s Return?

Jack van Impe feature

What are the signs of Christ’s return?

Now that we have addressed several foundational questions on the pre-Rapture signs, I want to show you how the Bible provides overwhelmingly clear evidence of other pretribulational signs demonstrating Christ’s impending return to earth. I will now begin to deal with every major sign in the New Testament to show that Jesus’ statement, “When ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors” (Matthew 24:33), is being fulfilled in our day and age.

Matthew 24:3-14 declares: And as he [Jesus] sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying. Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: For all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and

kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another, And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

This passage may be among the most misunderstood of all prophetic pronouncements.

The problem has arisen because many Christians still fail to see that God has two elect groups upon earth-the nation of Israel (Romans 11:28) and the Church (1 Peter 1:2). Romans 9-11 tells the entire story of God’s chosen people, Israel.

• Chapter 9 concerns Israel’s past.

•  Chapter 10 its present.

•  Chapter 11 its future.

Regarding its glorious past, Romans 9:4 declares that Israel was given the promises, including prophetic pledges. In chapter 10, we find: “But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who [among them] hath believed our report?” (Romans 10:16)

Presently, they are blinded to their calling and promises, but in the future, “All Israel shall be saved: as it is written. There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob” (Romans 11:26).

Why will God perform this?

Romans 11:29 provides the answer: “For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” God chose Israel (Deuteronomy 7:7-8) and He has never canceled His selection. Therefore, Israel remains God’s chosen people and heir to His promises as stated in Romans 11:28.

The signs of Matthew 24 are presented to the elect- yes, elect Israel. We know this to be true in this chapter because of the regard for the Sabbath day (Matthew 24:20), because of the connection with synagogues (Luke 21:12), and because the setting of Matthew 24 is Jerusalem (Matthew 24:1). Only Bible manipulators, antidispensationalists, and antiliteralists could make Gentiles out of these Jews.

Included in this group are the twelve tribes of the children of Israel. Twelve thousand shall be chosen from each of the twelve tribes. Twelve thousand times twelve equals 144,000.

The tribes are Juda, Reuben, Gad, Aser, Nephthalim, Manasses, Simeon, Levi, Issachar, Zabulon, Joseph, and Benjamin (Revelation 7:4-8). These signs are for Israel, who is looking for the return of her King in Revelation 19. They are not signposts for the Rapture.

The group looking for the fulfillment of signs in Matthew 24 is preaching a different gospel in (Matthew 24:14). Gospel means “good news,” and their good news is the gospel of the kingdom or the good news that their King is about to return (Revelation 19:16).

They will be traveling around the globe, 144,000 strong, singing “The King is coming! The King is coming!” Although the signs will be fulfilled in their entirety after the Christians are gone, we already see the tantalizing beginning of each of these signs. Again, this means that if these signs pointing to our return with the King are already in their initial stages, we must be snatched away very soon in order to prepare for our return to earth with Christ the King.

False Christs

In Matthew 24:3, Jesus was asked, “When shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming [to earth], and of the end of the world [or age of grace]?” He replied, “Many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many” (Matthew 24:5).

Since the year 1900, more than eleven hundred people claiming to be Christ have appeared on the world scene.

These include Father DivineProphet Jones, Sweet Daddy Grace, Father Riker; Daniel Swalt, Moses Guibbory, Maharaj Ji, and Sun Myung Moon, not to mention scores of lesser-known, self-proclaimed messiahs who enjoyed a few fleeting moments of media fame.

Presently, while they might not refer to themselves as “false Christs,” certain members of our liberal clergy are playing such a role. Take, for example, a survey of the beliefs and attitudes of the Church of Scotland ministers. They have rightfully caused a stir within the denomination as the foundational truth of the

Bible-the virgin birth of Christ-was recently called into question by religious leaders. The shocking results of the survey of 150 ministers were that 16 percent did not believe in the Immaculate Conception of Christ and 15 percent said that they “didn’t know.” An amazing 17 percent said that the Virgin Mary was not a virgin in twentieth-century terms, and 6 percent thought that Jesus was the product of Mary and Joseph having sex outside of marriage. (See Matthew 7:21-23 and 2 Peter 2:1-3.)

Such abuse of Scripture is yet another sign of the times.

However, eventually, the ultimate false Christ-one who is probably alive even at this moment-will proclaim himself as the true Christ and become accepted on an international scale.

The Bible predicts such an hour, when the Antichrist, “who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped… sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God” (2 Thessalonians 2:4) and is accepted as such.

This internationally deified dictator will inaugurate a world-peace program which will hold the world spellbound for forty-two months, or three and one-half years. Then, in the middle of the seven-year period of tribulation, he will break all of his pledges and destroy his contractual obligations with Israel (Daniel 9:27).

At this time, Russia will begin a world war as she invades Israel (Ezekiel 38:11). This war will eventually involve all nations (Zechariah 14:2).

This is God’s outline from the Bible.

First, the international dictator will establish global peace, and when the world believes that Utopia has arrived, the bottom will fall out of their hopes and aspirations: “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them” (1 Thessalonians 5:3). We now move to even more dramatic signs that signify our Lord is coming soon.

What is the significance of today’s wars, famines, and increasing pestilences?

From the proclamation of Matthew 24:6-7, we see that the world can expect nothing but rivalry and battles until the Antichrist produces the false peace of the Tribulation era. More than 176 limited wars have been fought since the end of the Second World War. Today one out of every four nations on earth is engaged in some kind of military conflict.

Soon, however, we will experience the greatest global confrontation in history, for we are marching swiftly toward Armageddon at this moment. Over a decade ago, CIA and British Intelligence reports about the Soviet Union were grim. They reported the development of new weapons systems located throughout the Soviet Union, along with expenditures of enormous sums for underground civil defense shelters that meant that Russia was preparing for war. Many did not believe these pronouncements at the time.

Even today, while there is a semblance of peace (although the signs of a reemergence of the Cold War are increasing), we must not be lulled into thinking that Russia has changed her ways-especially since enormous numbers of nuclear warheads remain hidden in underground silos throughout the southern provinces of that vast land. I’ve noted that people no longer laugh at the prophecies uttered by Ezekiel in chapters 38 and 39 that picture the Russian hordes from the north swarming to the Middle East. Today, as the end-time clock continues to wind down, the red horse of the Apocalypse is about to appear.

Revelation 6 states,

There went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

Revelation 6:4
Famines and Pestilences

Christ continued in Matthew 24:7, “And there shall be famines, and pestilences.” More than two billion of the world’s inhabitants go to bed hungry each night. There are nationwide famine in the Sudan and Rwanda and reports of widespread cannibalism in North Korea-with news coming from Indonesia, the earth’s fourth largest nation that millions of people on those scattered islands remain on the brink of starvation.

Thousands are dying painful deaths throughout our world, while scores of others are too numb with hunger to realize what is happening. One writer said it poignantly, “First the belly swells, then the hair turns gray and the skin cracks, after a while the victim dies in mute misery.” Such an experience will soon be the fate of millions of people. Paul Erlich, a biochemist at Stanford University, said it’s already too late to prevent famines that will kill millions, because already one-half billion are starving and another billion are malnourished. He may be right. There seems to be no possible solution in the near future, because it is too late to produce enough food.

America will undoubtedly be included in this suffering in the days ahead. In fact, the number of the beast, 666 (something we’ll address in a later question and answer), may come into existence through an international rationing plan. Soon the voice of Revelation 6:6 will sound, “A measure of wheat for a penny.

A measure in Bible times was a quart, and a penny was a day’s wages.

Imagine a loaf of bread for a day’s labor. Pestilence, the twin sister of hunger, is also on the rampage. The swine flu scare, legionnaires’ disease, AIDS, and other diseases-many already fully resistant to antibiotics and other medications-are only the beginning. Years ago I read an article in Reader’s Digest, reprinted from an article in Time entitled, “The Bugs Are Coming.” And they have come indeed . . . and will continue to come in plague like fashion during these final days.

Even as I write these words, other pestilential plagues are in their preparatory stages. The South American fire ant has advanced from its initial beachhead in Mobile, Alabama, and now infests more than one hundred billion acres in nine southern states, sometimes driving farm workers from the fields because of its fiery sting. In forest areas the gypsy moth, the spruce budworm, and the southern pine beetle have wreaked devastation on huge areas of woodland, defoliating and killing millions of valuable trees-enough, in fact, to build 910,000 houses per year! Corn borers and rootworms have attacked crops in the Corn Belt at an incredible rate. The boll weevil costs United States farmers millions of dollars in crop losses annually. The mosquito is infecting one million humans per year in Africa and killing thousands annually with malaria, while the black fly in the Volta River basin blinds hundreds of thousands each year.

Entomologists estimate that the number has now climbed to one quintillion, representing five million different species. If a person could weigh all insects together, their combined weight would be twelve times that of the entire human race. Can there be any doubt that the pestilence Jesus predicted will soon rear its head in monstrous proportions and that world hunger will be felt by every country on earth? This, along with what comes out of the bottomless pit in Revelation 9:2 (causing the plague of verse 3), is just around the corner. Listen to the prediction: “There came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.” Their purpose is to destroy and kill.

The Rapture is near, my friend … the signs are all around us.
