Well What is CHRISTMAS

Secular sources offers this Definition

Christmasˈkrɪsməs/ noun
1. the annual Christian festival celebrating Christ’s birth, held on 25 December in the Western Church.
synonyms: Xmas, Noel; Burra Din; informal: Chrimbo, Chrissie; archaic: Yule, Yuletide

Wikipedia says

Christmas or Christmas Day is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed most commonly on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world.

Dummies.com says

You probably know that Christmas is celebrated on December 25. In the Western World, families distribute gifts that Santa Claus left under the Christmas tree on Christmas morning. Many attend church services on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, and later gather for Christmas dinner with extended family.

Christmas is the observance of Jesus’ humble birth to a virgin in a stable in Bethlehem. The holiday also celebrates the events surrounding his birth, such as an angel’s appearance to shepherds, telling them to visit the newborn king.

Although the Church doesn’t consider it the most important Christian holiday, Christmas is certainly the most popular, at least in terms of cultural and social significance.

What did the Apostles of the new testament Say about “This Jesus & His Birth”

Firstly we can look to the Apostle Johns letters in particular 1 John Chapter 3 the things we know about this letter is that we are certain about the intended readers based on the content of the letter itself is that (i) they were Christians, (ii) they appear to have been well-known to the author (and he to them), and (ii) they were facing a threat from false teaching, a threat which was both serious and which appears to have arisen from within their Christian community.[1] 1 John 2:18-19  ie. The first epistle indicates that the readers were confronted with the error of Gnosticism[2]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnosticism. And  the locale in which Johns letters were written leads scholars to conclude that the best and earliest evidence points to Ephesus. The Book of 1 John was likely written between A.D. 85-95.

The Apostle John leads in with this Statement found in 1 John 1 vs.1 – vs.4 which is a core foundation he builds upon

1 John 1 (ESV)

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life— 2 the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us— 3 that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.

In the epistle 1 John chapter 3 we find the Apostle John states a foundational doctrinal truth which is core to Christianity and directly clarifies why the Birth of Jesus on Earth.

1 John 3 (ESV)

1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. 3 And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.

4 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. 5 You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. 6 No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. 8 Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. 9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. 10 By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.

 ESV vs.5 and (TLB) vs.5

you know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. or as the TLB puts it

And you know that he became a man so that he could take away our sins, and that there is no sin in him

 ESV vs.8

… The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.

The Apostle John is writing from Ephesus to the believers and states clearly the purpose for the Birth Life and Death of Jesus the Christ Gods only Son.

This was no ordinary event; this was no random event of chance! No it had specific purpose and intent formed in the heart of God the Creator of Heaven and Earth which could only be achieved by His only Son Jesus the Christ.

In today’s vernacular; the most Historic Earth Changer, Heavens Shattering, SIN Destroying Event which not even Lucifer himself understood, was all formed in the heart of God with the Son before the foundations of this world had became a reality.

This intervention this visitation by God and His Son was aimed at one thing and one thing only and the Apostles and Prophets declared it!

“To Destroy the Power, The Dominion and Control of Mans State of SIN; that came through the fall of Adam.

From that day Adam fell all flesh was born in SIN; Born under Domination, Born with a SIN Debt he could never pay; Born with a SIN Nature he in himself could never Dominate but rather would be dominated by.

What could be describe as “Mans Dilemma” which could only be resolved by God. A SOLUTION that ONLY GOD could provide which was through his Only Son Jesus who by the way of the Cross obtained and offer to men.

The Birth of Jesus

Is about SIN and God’s answer to the “Dilemma” Mankind could never resolve

Gnosticism states Matter ie (Flesh) is Evil and Spirit is Good therefore God did not come as a man in flesh and die a physical death. Thereby voiding the shedding of blood for forgiveness of sins which is the payment God made for Mans redemption of his SIN Debt to God. The Apostle John refutes this and say’s “Jesus was Born physically as a child in Flesh and was Gods Son”.  We could say… Gods reasons for coming to earth in human fleshly form of man wasn’t because of a whim or fancy to mingle with men, no it was motivated by a love for mankind and compassion and kindness not found in the hearts of men naturally.

The writer of Hebrews in chapter 9 vs 28 say’s “Christ died only once”. So why did He die? and whats that got to do with Christmas?

Well!

What was the prime purpose of Jesus being born in the Flesh (100% man), 1 Jn 3:5 ESV. say’s He came “To Take Away our Sins” and in Hebrews chapter 9 vs 28 is say’s “so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many,… ” But it did not stop there! vs.28 continues to say “so Christ,… “will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him”.

Hebrews chapter 9 says Jesus is coming a second time and it has nothing to do with Sins!

One needs to ask Why?

I believe Jesus himself explained it clearly with his last words spoken on the cross! and has been recorded in the gospels for all mankind to know. “IT IS FINISHED”

What is finished?

The Sin Problem!

The Sin Problem was and is No Longer a problem as far as God is Concerned.

Gods Solution had now been fully completed and was now established forever for mankind,

Remember… “he appeared in order to take away sins…

Remember…”… The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.

God’s Son Jesus is Coming a Second Time

And this time He comes to Earth for an entirely different purpose!

“To Save Those Who Are Eagerly Waiting for Him’ (Hebrews 9 vs.28)

The question needs to be asked! “Now that sins have been dealt with! What is God through His son going to Save His People From?”

The books of Matthew[3]Matthew 24:3-31, Thessalonians[4]1 Thessalonians chapters 4-5 and 2 Thessalonians chapters 2-3 and Revelations  speaks about this time coming it is refereed to by many as the 70th Week of Daniel’s Prophecy.[5]DANIEL 9:27

And according to the writer of the books Jesus is Coming to a time like nothing Mankind has ever seen before, a time where the Demonic world makes an open play for Domination and Satan attempts to once again declare himself as God and in Pride places himself on a throne in the 3rd Temple in Jerusalem declaring himself as God, demanding all to bow down and worship him and will require all to take a mark that signifies their submission and homage of him as God, this single act by mankind will immediately determine their eternal doom and Just condemnation by God.

This 70th week (a 7 year period) is marked with great tribulations to those who are God’s people, Jews and Christians alike come under intense persecution from Man on Man, Daniel says this period will last 3.5 years, which brings mankind to a tipping point where the Antichrist plays his hand for Domination and control, fooling even the elite with his guile.

What follows is something no one should ever want to see or endure in their right mind, it is the Wrath of God Poured Out on Mankind on Earth, Judgments so terrifying it should cause all who hear of its coming want to do whatever God says must be done to escape this.

This is what Jesus is coming back for! Its been called the “Rapture”, the “Departure”, the “Resurrection” of the Dead in Christ and the Living. The writer of the book of Hebrews clearly states Jesus second coming was and will be to “SAVE” His people waiting for Him.

Christmas is About:

The Power of SIN and the SIN Nature that has Dominated Mankind Since Adams Fall being Dealt with by God once and for all, it is also about a time yet to come where God Saves people from a time like no other where the full cup of God’s Wrath and Judgments a meted out on a defiant mankind.

Johns Gospel says it well. John Chapter 1 vs 29

Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the Sins of the World” we should bare in mind that Jesus had not died on the cross at this point and the John the Baptist sees Jesus and makes this proclamation.

The Angels declared the purpose of the Birth of Jesus before He was even born. Apostle Matthew writes in chapter 1 vs 21 ” the Angel said to Joseph, son of David fear not take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit, She will bare a son and you shall call his name Jesus for he will save his people from their Sins”

Apostle Luke’s account of the shepherds in the field is illuminating vs.10 chapter 2. “The Angel said fear not behold I bring you Good News of great Joy that will be for all people, vs. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a saviour who is Christ “the anointed one” the Lord “God”

The Angels Declared the purpose of His Birth it was: “SALVATION FROM SIN AND JUDGMENTS”

Isaiah chapter 7 vs 14 says ” He shall be called Immanuel “God is with Us” we must remember this was recorded from Oral History in the book of Isaiah around 701-681 BC with that in mind We now read Isaiah chapter 9 vs 6 which says

For unto to us a child is born

Isaiah 9:6

to us a son is given

and the government shall be upon his shoulder

and his name shall be called

wonderful counsellor, Mighty God

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah proclaims yet another time to come which can be biblically tied to the 1000 years of peace what is called The Millennium, spoken of in the New Testament, We have a prophet during a period before 701-681 BC declaring events to a child yet to be born “Jesus” concerning a world changing event to happen. we are now in 2018 means approx. 3000 yrs have past and this event is yet to happen. I can confidently say it will happen, why because this child was born, that is what Christmas is about!

The Nativity Story is far more then a stable, a baby and animals we celebrate an event which altered the destiny on mankind and saved them from doom and eternal damnation. Most today do not understand this or consider it part of what is Called Christmas in the Secular sense, for a vast majority its a public holiday time for presents and endulgements of excess.

Christmas is not a Jewish holiday.[6]http://www.jewfaq.org/xmas.htm Yet according to the prophet Zachariah in chapter 12 vs 10 there is coming a day when they will finally recognise Gods Only Son this child Born of a Virgin, Named Jesus who came to take away their SIN. “Take away the Sins of many people”

10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.

Zachariah 12:10

Yes a time is coming when the Nation of Israel will understand and acknowledge Jesus Born of Mary Gods Only Son the Child who came in humility and suffered the cross for their SIN to save them from Sin and Death (Eternal Separation From God), this event for Israel will not come without a price; as at this time spoken of in Zachariah 2 thirds of Israel will have been killed and in desperation those who are left cry out to God and God sends His Son a third time to save them from total destruction, Salvation is always on Gods Mind.

WHAT IS ON OUR MIND?

We today have an incredible opportunity before us as we enter the 2018 Christmas festive period. We have the freedom and opportunity to embrace God and His Son and What He came for and did for us some (approx.) 2000 years ago.

Will we openly acknowledge without reservation God sent His Son Born of a Virgin and His name was called Jesus and He came for a specific purpose “to save us from the Power of SIN and the Domination of the SIN Nature that holds every-man not born of God Captive.

Whatever has happened during 2018 in our live is behind us what matters is what are we going to do with the truth about Jesus the Son of God.

He came born as a child He lived as a man and His name was called Jesus 100% Man yet 100% “God is With Us!” non can deny the facts historical evidence demands that acknowledgement, what God seeks is the Heart of a Man or Women Boy or Girl who will embrace for themselves the very purpose His Son Jesus came for, that He came to save them from their SIN and to destroy the power of SIN over them. And we who are alive may see Him come again to save us from a time that’s yet to come.

In conclusion I would ask you to once and for all will you Surrender your Life to God and Let Him Save you from the power of, and domination of and control of “SIN”, which only produces “Death”, ie. separation from God now and for Eternity

The Bible says only a fool says in their heart “there is No God” Psalm 14 vs.1, I would say only a fool would say they have No Sin or a Sin Debt to God and the Apostle John says that person is deceived 1 John 1 vs.8-vs.10

The Birth of Jesus was the prime act of Gods Plan to Redeem (pay out) our Sin Debt to God on our behalf because we could never by our own efforts pay that Debt!

Yes we actually have something to Celebrate at Christmas and its not Santa and Present or Holidays!

TODAY HIT LIFE’S PAUSE BUTTON.

Replay the Christmas Story God’s Way: His Son came to dwell amongst man to Save men from “SIN” and then I invite you to embrace in its absolute fullness the One Purpose He came for.

Below is a prayer Ive written I would encourage you to find a quiet place and pray this prayer with utter sincerity and resolve to let it be the reality and truth of your life today.

GOD WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN
Father in Heaven, I come to you in Jesus name.

I believe Jesus Christ is your son and that Jesus came and lived as man, and he was crucified on the cross for my sins.

I believe Jesus was raised from the dead on the third day and is seated at the right hand of God in Heaven, as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Today I ask that Jesus, your son, would come and dwell in my heart by the Holy Spirit, and I surrender my whole life, my will and desires to Jesus Christ and make him my Lord and King.

Today I choose to give you, almighty God, complete control of my life.

Only one way to obtained Favor in God’s Sight “A Visitation from the Lord”

EXERT FROM: “ABRAHAM” by Jimmy Swaggart

THE SCENE: Abram sits at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day when the following event took place “A Visitation from the Lord”

And said, My LORD, if now I have found favor in Your Sight, pass not away, I pray You, from Your Servant” (Gen. 18:3).

Proving that Abraham now knows Who One of the three actually is, he addresses Him as  LORD, the same terminology that he used in (Genesis 15:2.  But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit[a] my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?”)

The phrase, “If now I have found favor in Your Sight,” implies far more than a mere formal remark or question.

Abraham had found favor in God’s Sight but only by and through the Faith which Abraham exhibited. To be sure, it was Faith in Christ and what Christ would do to redeem us. Again I refer to the fact that Jesus spoke of Abraham seeing His Day and, therefore, being glad (Jn. 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.”).

Favor in God’s Sight can be obtained in one manner and in one manner only, and that is by Faith.

However, when we speak of Faith, we are speaking exclusively of Faith in Christ and His Cross. That, in fact, is having Faith in the Word because the Word of God is the Story from cover to cover of Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.

Who Jesus is and what Jesus has done, and again we refer to the Cross, is where all Faith should be anchored and maintained.

This alone guarantees the Favor of God, and all else guarantees His Disfavor.

EXERT FROM:ABRAHAM” by Jimmy Swaggart

And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day (Gen 18:1 KJV).

ABRAHAM AND THE VISIT FROM THE LORD

Jewish tradition claims that this visit by the Lord to Abraham was on the third day after the Rite of Circumcision had been performed and was for the purpose of healing him from the painful consequences of it. It was on this account, they think, that Abraham was resting at home instead of being with his herds in the field.

Of course, this is only an assumption, but the fact remains that the Lord did appear to the Patriarch, the consequences of which will be striking, to say the least.

At this particular time, two momentous events will transpire, the first being the announcement by the Lord of the conception by Sarah. In fact, I think one an say without fear of contradiction that this is one of the most momentous occasions in history.

From this beginning will come the Jewish people. They will give the world the Word of God and, in effect, will serve as the Womb of the Messiah, which will bring the Redeemer into the world, which is what this is all about.

All of this must be done in this manner because Angels could not redeem humanity, and even God, as God, wouldn’t redeem humanity in this fashion. God would have to become Man, and as the God – Man, Jesus Christ, would then redeem the lost sons of Adam’s fallen race.

RIGHTEOUSNESS

Dominion had been given to Adam, which means that tremendous responsibility had been given to the first man (Gen 1:26 KJV; Ps 8: 1-9 KJV; Rom 5:12, 17-19 KJV; 1 Cor 15:45-47 KJV).

As well, in all of the doings, and I continue to speak of the Plan of Redemption being carried out, God would have to do things according to His Personal Nature. When many people think of God, they think of Him in an entirely wrong manner. They think that if God is All-powerful, and, in fact, He definitely is, then He can do anything.

While it is certainly true that He definitely can do anything, the facts are, He will not do anything against His Nature. So, to bring Redemption into this world, God would have to prepare a people who would evidence Faith in Him, even as He would reveal Himself to them, because He is a God of Faith (Heb 11: 1-3 KJV).

The end result of all of God’s Workings and Dealings with man is Righteousness; however, we have a problem here. Man thinks that he can perfect or concoct Righteousness by his own efforts, but, of course/that is impossible.

The Righteousness that God accepts, which is the Righteousness of God and, in fact, the only Righteousness He will accept, could only be brought about in a particular way.

As stated, ‘God would have to become Man, which He did, keep the Law perfectly, all on our behalf (Gal 4: 4-5 KJV), and then die on a Cross. This alone could satisfy the demands of the broken Law.

When we speak of the Law, we’re speaking of the Law of Moses, of which the moral aspects were centered in the Ten Commandments (Ex 20: 1-26 KJV).

THE CROSS

Without the Cross, the Perfect Life of Christ would have availed us nothing. In fact, without the Cross, His Healings and Miracles, as stupendous as they were, would have availed nothing. Only the Cross could address the terrible problem of sin and all of its effects, which it did (Eph 2:13-18 KJV; Col. 2:10-15 KJV).

The greatest shame of this modern age is the modern church little knows or understands the tremendous significance of the Cross.

To most, the Cross is just incidental in their lives and living for God. In fact, whatever credence that the modern church gives the Cross in any regard, which is very little indeed, is centered up in the initial Salvation experience.

Thank God for that. However, the sadness is, not understanding at all the part the Cross plays in their ongoing Christian experience, most in the modern church try to “live” for the Lord in other ways. What do we mean by that?

GOD’S PRESCRIBED ORDER OF VICTORY

As Salvation is “attained” by Faith in Christ and what He has done for us at the Cross, likewise, it is “maintained” by continued, exclusive Faith in the Cross, which is the way that we grow in Grace and the Knowledge of the Lord.

Having such little teaching in this regard, most Christians try to function outside of God’s Prescribed Order, which is always catastrophic simply because the Holy Spirit will not function in this capacity.

While He definitely will remain with us, He demands that we have Faith in Christ exclusively. This refers to what He did for us at the Cross, which will then guarantee His Function within our hearts and lives (Rom. 8: 1-2, 11 KJV).

The Lord works exclusively on the premise of Faith; however, it is always to be Faith in Christ and what Christ has done for us at the Cross. This Cross must ever be the Object of our Faith. The whole gist of Salvation is Christ Himself, but more particularly, it is what He has done

CHRIST AND HIS CROSS

If we try to divorce Christ from the Cross, which most of the modern church does, we then have “another Jesus, “which is always of “another spirit, “which presents “another Gospel” (2 Cor. 11:4 KJV).

The reader needs to peruse these words very carefully. We’re speaking here of God’s Prescribed Order for a victorious life. To be sure, He only has one order, and man has none and, in fact, will never have any.

Therefore, the Appearance of the Lord to Abraham at this particular time would ultimately lead to these things that we have been addressing, which is the Salvation of humanity in every capacity.

WALLS WORK

WALLS WORK, they do not let you down

Only thing that will let you down is Politicians who play Politics above National Security

MODERN MYTHS OF 2019

Walls are MEDIEVAL: [FACT-CHECK]

Sorry Folks Walls are not MEDIEVAL as the Democrats would like you to believe. Building Walls has been Around Since Ancient Times ie. 11,500 years and we are still building them because they work.

Walls are IMMORAL: [FACT-CHECK]

Definition of Immoral = violating moral principles; not conforming to the patterns of conduct usually accepted or established as consistent with principles of personal and social ethics.

Sorry Folks Walls are not IMMORAL as the Democrats would like you to believe Building Walls has been Around Since Ancient Times ie. 11,500 years and Walls are being build daily around Properties and Nations for Security and Defense.

HISTORY OF WALLS [FACT]

Hadrian's Wall

The English word ‘wall‘ is derived from the Latin, ‘vallus’ meaning ‘a stake’ or ‘post’ and designated the wood-stake and earth palisade which formed the outer edge of a fortification. The palisades were in use early on and are mentioned by Homer in the 8th century BCE and later by the Greek historian Polybius (c 200-118 BCE) and the Chinese historian Sima Qian (145-86 BCE) among others. Walls have traditionally been built for defense, privacy, and to protect the people of a certain region from the influence or perceived danger posed by outsiders.

ANCIENT WALLS OF MESOPOTAMIA

WALLS BEGAN TO RISE AROUND CITIES THROUGHOUT MESOPOTAMIA SHORTLY AFTER URBANIZATION BEGAN IN THE REGION C. 4500 BCE.

The oldest walls found in existence so far are those of the temple of Gobekli Tepe in Urfa, southeast Turkey which date to 11,500 years ago. City walls, which became common for purposes of defense, are first seen around the city of Jericho (now in the West Bank) around the 10th century BCE and the Sumerian city of Uruk which was founded somewhat later (though both cities lay claim to the honor of `first city in the world’). The walls of Uruk were thought to have been built by the great king Gilgamesh upon which he inscribed his heroic deeds which formed the basis for the later epic he is most famous for.

Walls began to rise around cities throughout Mesopotamia shortly after urbanization began in the region c.4500 BCE. City walls were constructed to include gates and watchtowers and usually a ditch running around the outer perimeter of the wall which could be filled with water. King Hammurabi surrounded his city of Babylon with more impressive walls than usually seen shortly after he assumed the throne in 1792 BCE, but the credit for transforming the city of Babylon into an awe-inspiring wonder belongs to King Nebuchadnezzar II. Nebuchadnezzar II (634-562 BCE) built three walls around Babylon at heights of forty feet and so broad at the top that chariots could race around them. The Ishtar Gate in the wall of Nebuchadnezzar II’s Babylon was claimed by some to be greater than any of the listed Wonders of the Ancient World.

The Greek historian Herodotus claimed that

“Babylon surpasses in wonder any city in the known world” and specifically praised the walls which he said were 56 miles (90 kilometres) long, 80 feet (24 metres) thick, and 320 feet (97 metres) high. Although it is generally believed that Herodotus exaggerated the majesty of Babylon, other ancient writers have also noted the magnificence of the walls.

DEFENSIVE WALLS

Shulgi’s Wall:

It is thought the very first wall not built around a city was erected by the Sumerian King Shulgi of Ur c. 2038. Shulgi’s wall was 155 miles (250 kilometres) long and was built between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers to keep the invading Amorites out of Sumerian lands.

This wall was unusual in that it did not surround a city but, rather, marked a territorial, national (rather than private) boundary and, as such, was a first of its kind. Shulgi’s son, Shu-Sin, grandson, and great-grandson all tried to maintain this wall but, as it was not anchored at either end to any terminus, proved to be ineffective (one could simply march an army around either end of the wall) and finally was breached by the Elamites c. 1750 BCE resulting in the fall of Ur and the region of Sumer.

The Red Snake Wall:

Another wall of this kind, still extant, is the Great Wall of Gorgan (known as `The Red Snake’ due to the red color of the bricks) in modern-day Iran. Built by the Parthian Empire (247 BCE-224 CE) it was restored and renovated by the Sasanian Persians in the 5th or 6th century CE, the wall runs 121 miles (195 Kilometres) long and included over thirty forts along its line.

The wall was built as both a defensive construct and a strategic means of observing enemy deployment. It was far more effective than Shulgi’s wall and it is thought that the Sasanian Persians learned the lesson of Shulgi’s wall and improved upon their own.

Great Wall of Gorgon:

The Great Wall of Gorgon is over 1,000 years older, though far less famous, than the Great Wall of China which, though begun under the reign of Shi Huangti (ruled 221-210 BCE) was not completed in its present state until the time of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 CE).

Great Wall of China:

Like the Great Wall of Gorgon, the Great Wall of China was built as a free-standing structure for defense of a region

The Long Walls of Thrace:

As was the Anastasian Wall (also known as The Long Walls of Thrace) of the Byzantine Empire (begun c. 469 CE) located in modern Turkey.

WALLS IN HOMES AND CITIES

Banpo Walls

The Neolithic village of Banpo in China (c. 4800 BCE) consisted of stone-walled circular houses supported by timber with thatched roofing.

Skara Brae

While the village of Skara Brae (in Orkney, Scotland) was built in 3100 BCE with walls and houses of stone to protect people from the elements and provide privacy.

Interestingly, both villages are similar in construction.

The basic form of these villages, and the use of walls, continues along the same lines in other cultures. In ancient Egypt most private homes had walled courtyards to help deter robbers or simply unwanted and uninvited neighbours (papyrus scrolls and tomb inscriptions relate that human beings could be as insufferably annoying to each other in ancient times as they are now).

Every city in ancient Egypt was walled and each of the great palaces had elaborate painted walls for the purpose of defense, but also for ornamentation. This same building pattern held true in ancient Greece where citizens of Athens built small decorative walls around their courtyards and patios.

Athenians Walls

The Athenians also surrounded their city with thick walls which lasted until the end of the Peloponnesian Wars with Sparta when the victorious Spartans had them torn down.

Also of note in Athens were the Long Walls which were two parallel stone structures which ran from the Acropolis down to the port of Piraeus and protected the center of the city.

The walls of the fabled city of Troy from Homer’s Iliad were uncovered by the archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann during excavations between 1871-1874 CE and served this same defensive purpose.

Xi’an Walls

The fortifications of the Chinese city of Xi’an (built c. 194 BCE) were also constructed for defense and lasted four years before falling. The modern day walls of Xi’an, like the Great Wall of China, was re-built and restored by the Ming Dynasty.

WALLS IN EUROPE & HADRIAN’S WALL

South tower of Mycenaean Tiryns

Oppidum Wall

In Europe the custom of the walled city continued as evidenced by sites such as the OPPIDUM of Manching (located near modern-day Ingolstadt, Germany) which was a 3rd century BCE Celtic community of the Vindelici tribe.

Lugo Wall

The Roman city of LUGO in Galicia, Spain was surrounded by enormously thick walls considered utterly impregnable.

Hadrian Wall

The most famous wall of antiquity in Europe, however, is HADRIAN’S WALL in Britain.

The Roman Emperor Hadrian (76-138 CE) grew tired of incursions into the Roman provinces in Britain and so, in the year 122 CE, began building a wall across the northern border of Roman Britain to separate it from the invading Pict tribes much in the same way that Shulgi built his wall almost two thousand years earlier to keep out the Amorites (as with the Great Wall of China and the Anastasian Wall).

It took six years to build, stretched for 80 miles (128 kilometres) across the border between what is now England and Scotland and was, at points, over nine feet wide (2.7 metres) and twenty feet (6 metres) high.

It was fortified at towers along the way and served as a symbol of Roman military might and power.

Antonine Wall

The later ANTONINE WALL (begun in 142 CE under the reign of the Roman emperor Antoninus Pius) stretched 39 miles (63 kilometres) between the Firth of Forth and the Firth of Clyde and was constructed for the same reason as other such walls: to protect the known region of the inhabitants from the incursions of the `other’ whom they regarded as dangerous barbarians.

The Smell of HYPOCRISIES can not be hid!

Matthew 23:23-26 (ESV)

23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. 24 You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel! 25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26 You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.

HYPOCRITE
NOUN: dictionary.com
1. A person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs,principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.
2. A person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude,especially one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.

HYPOCRISIES.

1. A pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess.
2. A pretense of having some desirable or publicly approved attitude.
3. An act or instance of hypocrisy.

1 John 2:3-5, 9-11 & 15 (ESV)

3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: 6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

9 Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. 10 Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. 11 But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

The worst Smell in this world is HYPOCRISIES coming from those who claim to be walking in the light, its a stench which can not be hidden.

Be careful to walk in the truth, as its easy to slip into the stream of HYPOCRISIES non of us are exempt from from falling into this sea. BE ALERT BE SOBER BE VIGILANT FOR YOUR ENEMY IS LIKE A ROARING LION LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO DEVOUR

God is not mocked!

The Apostle Paul wrote  Alexander the coppersmith did me great harmthe Lord will repay him according to his deeds2 Timothy 4:14 ESV,  many would say that was wrong.

The question to ask is:

• Can we see this precept within the word of God? “YES”

• Was the Apostle praying according to Gods way of doing things? “YES”

• Does God Reward Every Man According to His Works? “YES”

The bible is clear only a Fool says there is no God and any person who claims to be a Christian and conducts their lives outside of Gods boundary and thinks the Grace Card will give them a get out of judgement pass are even greater fools. Any attempt to play ‘God’ as a Fool is an act of insanity which bring a pay day that has eternal consequences, clearly we can not live a habitual life of disobedience to Gods Word and ways! ie So many “alleged christian” live life like the devil and then think they’ll walk into heavens rewards of Well done Good and faithful Servant, because of gods Grace.

We have large group of people naming them selves as ‘Christians’, yet have laid aside biblical precepts of conduct in ethics and morals which have been clearly addressed in Gods Word, holding the opinion that God didn’t really mean that or its all OK now because of the age of grace we live in.

Galatians

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
Galatians 6:7 (ESV)

Psalm

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does goodPsalm 14:1 ESV

Psalm

Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. Psalm 28:4 KJV

We have a sea of “believer” that think God doesn’t mind? or doesn’t care about it! Who are living their lives not in subjection to the word of God but in subjection to their own opinions.

Do we really believe we are smarter than God and He’s got it wrong regarding ethics and moral conduct; do we really believe Gods got His “RIGHT” and “WRONGS” WRONG! Well that’s what we are saying when we live outside of Gods Boundaries and at the same time claim to be Gods children destined to Heavens Promises.

Since the time when RIGHT and WRONG was established on this earth by God he has never changed or modified or corrected those standards no generation of humanity has persuaded God that he had got it wrong and his wrongs were WRONG! Neither will this Generation, the consequences of a Nations sins and a individuals sins will be accounted for. Roman 6 shows the path of wilful sin which is not addresses, it will take the person to the place of becoming a reprobate (a person rejected by God and beyond hope of salvation.)

“Yes we live in the Age of Grace” However Grace doesn’t provide a gateway to allow the believer to habitually conduct their ethics and morality outside of Gods Word, God is not mocked “The Lord will repay according Deeds”  I say that because the Word of God has a sea of scripture that says this!

according to my cleanness in his sight.

and I kept myself from my guilt.
24 So the Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness,
according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.

Psalm 28:3-5 ESV

with the workers of evil,
who speak peace with their neighbour
while evil is in their hearts.
Give to them according to their work
and according to the evil of their deeds;
give to them according to the work of their hands;
render them their due reward.

Isaiah 59:15-18 ESV

and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.

The Lord saw it, and it displeased him
that there was no justice.
16 He saw that there was no man,
and wondered that there was no one to intercede;
then his own arm brought him salvation,
and his righteousness upheld him.
17 He put on righteousness as a breastplate,
and a helmet of salvation on his head;
he put on garments of vengeance for clothing,
and wrapped himself in zeal as a cloak.
18 According to their deeds, so will he repay,
wrath to his adversaries, repayment to his enemies;
to the coast-lands he will render repayment.

“‘Execute justice in the morning,
and deliver from the hand of the oppressor
him who has been robbed,

and burn with none to quench it,
because of your evil deeds.’

13 Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley,
O rock of the plain,
declares the Lord;
you who say, ‘Who shall come down against us,

Jeremiah 32:17-24 ESV

17 Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you18 You show steadfast love to thousands, but you repay the guilt of fathers to their children after them, O great and mighty God, whose name is the Lord of hosts, 19 great in counsel and mighty in deed, whose eyes are open to all the ways of the children of man, rewarding each one according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds20 You have shown signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, and to this day in Israel and among all mankind, and have made a name for yourself, as at this day. 21 You brought your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and outstretched arm, and with great terror. 22 And you gave them this land, which you swore to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey. 23 And they entered and took possession of it. But they did not obey your voice or walk in your law. They did nothing of all you commanded them to do. Therefore you have made all this disaster come upon them. 24 Behold, the siege mounds have come up to the city to take it, and because of sword and famine and pestilence the city is given into the hands of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it. What you spoke has come to pass, and behold, you see it.

Jeremiah 50:28-30 ESV

28 “A voice! They flee and escape from the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, vengeance for his temple.

29 Summon archers against Babylon, all those who bend the bow. Encamp around her; let no one escape. Repay her according to her deeds; do to her according to all that she has done. For she has proudly defied the Lord, the Holy One of Israel30 Therefore her young men shall fall in her squares, and all her soldiers shall be destroyed on that day, declares the Lord.

Lamentations 3:61-64 ESV

61 You have heard their taunts, O Lord,
all their plots against me.
62 The lips and thoughts of my assailants
are against me all the day long.
63 Behold their sitting and their rising;
I am the object of their taunts.

64 You will repay them, O Lord,
according to the work of their hands.

Ezekiel 7:2-9 ESV

And you, O son of man, thus says the Lord God to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land. Now the end is upon you, and I will send my anger upon you; I will judge you according to your ways, and I will punish you for all your abominations. And my eye will not spare you, nor will I have pity, but I will punish you for your ways, while your abominations are in your midst. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

Thus says the Lord God: Disaster after disaster! Behold, it comes. An end has come; the end has come; it has awakened against you. Behold, it comesYour doom has come to you, O inhabitant of the land. The time has come; the day is near, a day of tumult, and not of joyful shouting on the mountains. Now I will soon pour out my wrath upon you, and spend my anger against you, and judge you according to your ways, and I will punish you for all your abominationsAnd my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity. I will punish you according to your ways, while your abominations are in your midst. Then you will know that I am the Lord, who strikes.

Ezekiel 7:27 ESV

27 The king mourns, the prince is wrapped in despair, and the hands of the people of the land are paralyzed by terror. According to their way I will do to them, and according to their judgements I will judge them, and they shall know that I am the Lord.”

Ezekiel 18:20-30 ESV

20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.

21 But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 22 None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done he shall live. 23 Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live? 24 But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die.

25 Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way not just? Is it not your ways that are not just? 26 When a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it; for the injustice that he has done he shall die. 27 Again, when a wicked person turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he shall save his life.28 Because he considered and turned away from all the transgressions that he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 29 Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ O house of Israel, are my ways not just? Is it not your ways that are not just?

30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord God. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin.

Ezekiel 24:14 ESV

14 I am the Lord. I have spoken; it shall come to pass; I will do it. I will not go back; I will not spare; I will not relentaccording to your ways and your deeds you will be judged, declares the Lord God.

Ezekiel 35:9-11 ESV

I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities shall not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

10 Because you said, ‘These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will take possession of them’—although the Lord was there— 11 therefore, as I live, declares the Lord God, I will deal with you according to the anger and envy that you showed because of your hatred against them. And I will make myself known among them, when I judge you.

Ezekiel 36:17-19 ESV

17 Son of man, when the house of Israel lived in their own land, they defiled it by their ways and their deeds. Their ways before me were like the uncleanness of a woman in her menstrual impurity. 18 So I poured out my wrath upon them for the blood that they had shed in the land, for the idols with which they had defiled it. 19 I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries. In accordance with their ways and their deeds I judged them.

Ezekiel 39:23-24 ESV

23 And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they dealt so treacherously with me that I hid my face from them and gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword. 24 I dealt with them according to their uncleanness and their transgressions, and hid my face from them.

Hosea 12:2 ESV

The Lord has an indictment against Judah
and will punish Jacob according to his ways;
he will repay him according to his deeds.

Zechariah 1:4-6 ESV

Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets cried out, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, Return from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.’ But they did not hear or pay attention to me, declares the Lord. Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever? But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? So they repented and said, ‘As the Lord of hosts purposed to deal with us for our ways and deeds, so has he dealt with us.’

Matthew 16:24-27 ESV

24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.

Romans 2:1-11 ESV

Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.

He will render to each one according to his worksto those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek, 10 but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek. 11 For God shows no partiality.

1 Corinthians 3:5-15 ESV

What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labour. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.

10 According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. 11 For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— 13 each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. 14 If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward15 If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.

2 Corinthians 5:8-10 ESV

Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 ESV

13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

1 Peter 1:17-21 ESV

17 And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one’s deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile, 18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. 20 He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you 21 who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

Revelation 2:20-23 ESV

20 But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols. 21 I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality.22 Behold, I will throw her onto a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her I will throw into great tribulation, unless they repent of her works, 23 and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you according to your works.

Revelation 18:1-6 ESV

After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was made bright with his glory. And he called out with a mighty voice,

Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great!
She has become a dwelling place for demons,
a haunt for every unclean spirit,
a haunt for every unclean bird,
a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast.
For all nations have drunk
the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality,
and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her,
and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living.

Then I heard another voice from heaven saying,

Come out of her, my people,
lest you take part in her sins,
lest you share in her plagues;
for her sins are heaped high as heaven,
and God has remembered her iniquities.
Pay her back as she herself has paid back others,
and repay her double for her deeds;
mix a double portion for her in the cup she mixed.

Revelation 20:11-15 ESV

11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done.14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Revelation 22:11-12 ESV

11 Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.

12 Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done.
